"What the hell does that even mean?" Aaron threw the paper back down on the countertop in front of us. "I thought by Betty having that Phillips guy arrested it would end but noooo" He was tired and Maren could tell, hell this whole town was sick of the Blackhood.
"A test? Should we be worried...about the whole nick thing you know" Ren looked up at her brother, eyes like saucers. Though she stopped worrying about her dad, she would never stop when it came to Aaron.
"No Maren, not when im around" He pulled his baby sister into his side, the both of them really needing this hug. The loud ringing of Aarons phone made them both slightly jump, "Hello?" He answered. "Uh yeah sure im on my way" He hung up looking slightly panicked. "What's up A? Who was that?" Maren asked following him to the front door.
"It was Jughead" Jughead? Why the hell is he talking to southsiders? "He needs a favour so im meeting him at pops" Aaron rushed out the door before he could be quizzed by his sister.

Ren walked through the school halls, music blaring thanks to her headphones. It was the only thing to calm her mind that was filled with thoughts, like why was Aaron helping Jughead Jones. Yes the darker haired boy was technically considered a Northsider, but clearly that changed due to the Serpent jacket. It just weirded Maren out, that her brother Aaron Campbell would be helping a Southsider.
Speak of the devil and they shall appear, the girl pulled her headphones off so they were resting along her neck, quickly walking towards her brother, Jug and Archie.
"Okay what's going on?" Ren asked folding her arms, standing in front of the boys. "And before you say nothing i wan the truth k? I know you Aaron" She adds making her brother gulp, he gives Jug and Arch the look. Letting them know they won't be walking away from this easily.
"Look Ren, I needed a favour from Aaron and Archie owes us...with the whole Ghoulie situation" Jughead says, the last part coming out more hushed.
"What kind of a favour...." She eyes the three boys, noticing their uncomfortable posture and fidgeting. Especially Aaron, he always twists his bracelet when nervous.....so what was making him nervous? "Why are you so nervous A.."
Aaron grabs his sister by her forearm, pulling her back towards a few empty lockers. "Right its sorta...sketchy business alright? Like uh....baby powder" Rens eyes almost popped out of her head, mostly cause of her idiot brothers idea of code words.
"You're not taking that are you cause i swear to god A-" "What no, n0 and fucking no" Aaron sighed rubbing his face, he pulled Ren into a tight hug. "Just moving it...i think" Ren pulled away wanting to try convince him not to do whatever 'moving it' entailed, but it was no use as he was pulled off by Reggie and a few other Bulldogs. All of the boys barking as they whisked him away.
Maren rolled her eyes, not one braincell between those boys. Just as her thoughts were coming back Betty Cooper had speed walked up to the girl, dragging her towards Kevin and Veronica....great.
"Hey Ren" Kevin said with a sudden dullness about him. "You alright Kev?' She asked walking between him and kev.
"Not really, im worried about my dad the whole Blackhood thing is getting to him" He said, "He's barely sleeping and not even eating and doing weird things" Kevin stopped walking to face the three of us.
"What do you mean weird things?" Ren asked trying to get Betty to let go of her arm, which she eventually did.
"Like talking to himself and just heading out in the middle of the night" Kevs voice was growing more, filling with absolute concern over the Sheriff.
"Where's he going?" Veronica asked looking confused as hell.
"I don't know but whatever it is its like he's a different person"
The rest of the day Maren couldn't seem to shake being around Betty or Veronica, its not that she didnt like them but they're older than her and she'd much rather be alone or with Toni. So there she was, texting Toni about her dreadful time whilst trying to pay attention to the girls conversation.
The only thing that did catch her attention was Betty speaking about some 'theory'.
"He's the Blackhood" "He's having an affair" The two girls stare at each other, neither wanting to believe the others theory so of course they turn to Maren asking about her opinion.
"Well im really hoping he's not the Blackhood" Ren started, "Both are awful but for once im hoping its an affair"
"Does the Blackhood not make more sense?" Betty asked making Ronnie scoff.
"His wife's away, he's lonely, possibly feeling isolated and he's sneaking out in the late hours.....i mean...I hate to say it but i think he's cheating" The two girls stare at ren in shock, seeing a side 0f her they've never seen before. As Betty and Veronica both got into a somewhat heated discussion. Rens phone started to ring, a call from Sweet Tea.
"Hello?" She slightly whispered while walking to a more private area in the room.
"Hi uh I wasn't really expecting you to answer.." Sweet Pea dragged out, sounding nervous. "I know we haven't talked in a bit"
"Yeah sorry about that just been...preoccupied" Maren says glancing over at the girls, still keeping a low toned voice.
"Just checking to see if we're okay n stuff about that night? I didnt mean to overst-"
Maren started to laugh causing Sweet to ask multiple 'what's'. "I'm sorry just didn't take you for an apology typa guy Sweet Tea"
He scoffed down the phone, "Not anymore after today"
"Dont worry about it we've always been good"
"Sooooo wanna meet at Pops later? My treat"
Ren tried to ignore the butterflies brewing in her stomach, "Sure, if i can escape"
Sweet Pea laughs causing a wide smile to fall on the girls face, inwardly cursing herself. The two say quick goodbyes but of course when Ren turns around the iconic B and V are nowhere in sight.
Probably off planning some crazy scheme, that Ren was just happy to not be apart of.
