Today was Unity Day. Today exactly, 18 years ago, Athena Kane was born.

*Flashback*

"Okay Maria, I need you to push" Abby said while Maria Kane was laying on the operating table. Today was the day her daughter was going to be born.

Maria screams as she pushed again, Abby now had a baby in her hands. "Why isn't she crying?" Marcus asked panicked from Maria's side, holding his wife's hand tightly. Was the baby okay? Then suddenly the baby Abby had just wrapped in a pink blanked started to cry.

Maria and Marcus Kane let out sighs of relief. Their baby was okay. "A beautiful healthy baby girl." Abby said with a smile, handing the newborn baby girl to Maria. Maria's brunette hair stuck to her forehead, sweat and tears mixed on her face.

Marcus had the biggest smile on his face. He had been blessed with a beautiful baby girl. He truly wanted a boy but a girl is just as great in his eyes.

Maria handed Marcus the baby, "Hold your daughter Marcus" She whispered to her husband with a soft smile. Marcus held the baby with gentle hands; he had one hand on the back of her head supporting her neck. She had fair skin accompanied by dazzling forest green eyes. Her green eyes reminded Marcus of nature and Earth. Her eyes held hope and Marcus knew that she would have him wrapped around her tiny finger in no time.

Marcus now had tears in his eyes, "My beautiful baby girl." He whispered kissing the crown of her small head which had a little bit of strawberry blond curls. She looked exactly like her mother.

"What is her name?" Abby asked the new parents, "Athena" Marcus said with pride. "Athena Monique Kane" Maria finished. That baby girl was the thing that completed Marcus and Maria's life. She was the missing piece of their puzzle.

Marcus never took his eyes off of his daughter, "I will always protect you, and I will love you...Always and forever" He whispered to his daughter as she slept in his arms. The arms that will always protect her. Always and forever.

_____

Most of the hundred were in the biggest tent in camp, the communication system Raven installed had Jaha's face on it, he was giving his big Unity Day speech.

"My friends, This is an historic unity day. Every year we mark the moment our Ancestors of the 12 stations joined to form the ark but this is the last time we do so while aboard her. Next year on the ground." Jaha said as everyone on the ark applauded in the back round of the live video.

"Right. After we did all the work. Someone shut him up." Miller said from beside Athena, obviously angered that Jaha was basically taking all the credit when the hundred went through everything alone.
