miles walked into the school, trying awkwardly to make conversation with the students around him.
there were about ten minutes left before the first class started.
miles scanned the hall quickly for a place to sit down and relax a bit. he saw a girl reading a book and nodding her head to a song playing on her headphones. she seemed like she might not be irked by miles' presence.
miles sat down next to her and pulled out his notebook. he felt the girl shift slightly but she didnt say anything. miles recognized the song she was humming as his favorite, sunflower by post malone.
after a few minutes of silence, the girl spoke up. "nice drawings," she said.
"oh," miles said, slightly started by the sound of her voice. "thanks."
"no problem."
and that was that.
