Till Death - Ace Merrill (BOOK 2)

I know the drill.

Oceane soon left both boys with Austin as she wandered slowly upstairs. Ace had brought in all their luggage and just dumped it in his room.

Naturally she pulled up the first bag, onto the bed, opening it up a small smile came to her face as she pulled out one of his old shirts, the one she wore on her first night here.

She still loved to sleep in them and Ace never complained.

Pulling out the big candle from the case she used one of Ace's old lighters to light it up and placed it on the bedside table. They had to have a candle.

Quickly changing into his old shirt, she left the buttons undone as she left the room and leant over the banister.

"Ace!"

"What?"

"I need help with my shirt buttons!" She shouted back down the stairs.

Quiet voices were heard before Ace soon came racing up the stairs. Oceane laughed as he practically dove on her, cutting off her laugh with his lips on hers.

Her legs automatically went around his waist as he carried her into his old room and kicked the door shut.

"I'm telling you kid, if you ain't got a brother or sister by next year, I'm gonna pull a Skylar and shoot my myself in the foot." Eyeball mumbled as he bounced Austin on his hip, walking into the living room.

Austin gurgled as Eyeball half crashed onto the sofa, letting the baby rest against his chest as he tried so hard to lift his head up by himself to look up at the cobra.

"Bedtime kid, you know the drill." Eyeball mumbled as Austin clung to his shirt, still attempting to look up at him.

"Okay story time first," he grumbled. "I know the drill."

He took a small deep breath as he gently rubbed Austin's back.

"Once upon a time, there was a big badass gamgster named Leander, he was on his way home from a job right?"

His other hand went to Austin's head as he gently stroked what little hair the baby had.

"Till his car broke down. Now that might sound bad but that was when he met Hero..."

"And then I got a shit tonne of paperwork to do." Ace grumbled as he finished his rant to Oceane.

She lay beside him as the morning sun shone into their room, both completely wrapped up in each other and the single blanket.

"What are you smiling at?" Ace almost snapped at her as he saw her smirking down at him.

"Just you."

Ace's face softened.

"Honestly, everything's going to be fine Ace." Oceane continued. "I thought we were coming back here to relax, not get you even more stressed."

Ace moved his arm so she could half lay on his chest as his other hand behind his head.

"I guess just being back here brings it all back..." he mumbled quietly as he stared off at the wall.

"Wait." Oceane blurted out as she sat up and stared down at him. "I'm not gonna be needing to punch any more one night stands am I?"

Ace quickly shook his head. "No no no no no we're good."

"Oh and that brings me to the topic of your stag do..." she glared down at him.

Ace gulped slightly. "No girls." He fired out quickly.

Oceane laughed, "I was gonna say why don't you invite my old team as we all miss them so much?"  She continued to laugh as she pulled the blanket back and picked up the shirt Ace had savagely ripped off her the night before.

"Oh, right. Yeah definitely, course, great idea." His words bumbled out.

"But yes, also no girls." She said as she spun on her heels and stared down at him.

He quickly nodded as she began to rummage through their luggage to find a clean outfit for the day. A simple blue knee high dress and flat shoes.

"I'm gonna go see Connie today." She said as both her and Ace began to get changed.

He nodded. "Take Billy, unless he already saw her last night then don't, just to piss him off." He laughed.

Oceane nodded as she quickly headed downstairs where all the others were half sat around.

"Vince and Jack have gone to get some breakfast." Eyeball informed her as he handed over Austin.

Oceane almost smothered him with kisses as she balanced him on her hip.

"Pancakes with-"

"With strawberries yes, we know the drill." Eyeball interrupted with a smirk.

Oceane beamed at him. "It's like you know me so well."

"Always Artois." He gave her a wink as she walked into the living room and sat on the sofa between Billy and Charlie.

"I'm going to go see Connie today." She started as Billy's head snapped in her direction.

She couldn't help but smile as she turned to him slowly.

"Don't suppose you know any of my team willing to accompany me?"

His cheeks darkened slightly as he shrugged. "I mean, I've got some paperwork and stuff to sort for the whole wedding thing but I mean I can try push it back or just leave it till this evening, I don't mind staying up later to do it, if it will make you more comfortable having me there and I mean I'm not pushing to come, just saying it might be best, I mean I do know these streets and I think-"

"Oh shut up!" Fuzzy snapped as he chucked a cushion straight into Billy's face.

The others all laughed as Ace came in, Eyeball stood up beside him.

"Billy wants to go with Artois to see Connie."

Ace shook his head firmly. "No Charlie, Jack and Vince will go."

"But-?!" Billy snapped as he jumped up and stared at Ace.

The confident Merrill smirk came back as the others all laughed.

"You're a dick." Billy grumbled as he grumpily sat back down.

Even Oceane was laughing as she nudged him slightly.

"We'll go after breakfast." She whispered with a smile.

Billy gave her a small one in return as the group still somewhat continued to tease Billy and reminisce about the good old days they spent here.
