Adam left yesterday morning and I can't take it. I feel so lost without him. Sure, he is a little controlling sometimes but without him here I just can't do it. I thought I would manage somehow, but I was so very wrong. I scrambled to answer my phone, knowing that only Adam had the number.

"Hey." My voice sounded as if I had been crying, which I had been, I tried to keep it together.

"Baby, what's wrong?" I heard the genuine concern in his voice and I couldn't take it.

"I need you. Adam I can't be away from you." I whispered shakily down the phone.

"Are you okay?"

"No. Adam please." I sobbed.

"Jesse will come and pick you up alright. You'll be with me soon, I promise." I could hear him rushing around. Being away from him hurt, I felt empty, in the time with him I grew used to him and his controlling ways. The dynamic has clearly changed now, but there are still parts that are very much the same. Parts I don't really think I can live without.

"Thanks baby." I breathed out a sigh of relief.

"It'll be alright sweetheart." I heard someone shout his name in the background. "Fuck. I need to go baby, will you be alright?"

"Can you keep me on the phone? I need to hear your voice." I sounded like a needy child, I would be embarrassed if my heart didn't ache so much.

"I can do one better. Look at your phone." I looked down and beamed. FaceTime. Why hadn't I thought of that!

"Miss you honey, thanks for this." I gave him a smile.

"Stop looking at your phone and get to work!" Someone shouted, I hated the look on Adam's face. He placed his phone on the little platform so I could still see him and hear him. His eyes fell shut as he lay his head back on the chair, the place fell silent then someone began singing. His voice was beautiful, I couldn't believe the pure sound. He was brilliant. Or maybe it's because I love the song. Or both. Adam's eyes fell on me, he saw the look of amazement on my face and immediately pressed the button. The song had barely even started. He winked down at the screen for me, as if to say it was for me. The guy's name was Blaze.

"What can I say, I think you captured a bit of everyone's heart with that performance. I couldn't not turn for you." Safe to say he went for Team Adam, then the door to the house opened.

"Bye Adam. Jesse's here."

"See you soon baby." He whispered.

"Come on then." Jesse led me out to the car, I still wasn't talking to him after the whole thing at the mall. I just couldn't deal with it. I couldn't understand why he would even consider betraying his best friend like that. We drove in silence, I put my headphones in and listened to Adam sing.
