Adam wrapped his arm around my shoulders, effectively calming me down and filling me with a sense of safety.

"You need to relax." He whispered into my ear.

"What if they don't like me?"

"Then more fool them. They will love you. And if they don't, I love you enough for each of them."

"Why are you so sweet?" I smiled, he just shrugged as a smile tugged at his lips. We walked into a very snazzy studio, it was Adam's own label I believe, or at least his own studio. 222. His lucky number.

"You ready?" I managed a nod as he led me inside, the place fell silent, the silence was deafening.

"Hey Nat." Jesse gave me a soft smile. "Can I talk to you outside for a second?"

"Sure." I went outside with him as Adam went to take a seat on the leather sofa in the room. "What is it Jesse?"

"I know you don't like what I said to you in the mall that day, I thought you wanted to get away. And, I've seen the effect you've had on Adam, you are helping him so much and I want to thank you for that." I couldn't stay mad at him, I need a friend here and don't want to make things awkward anymore.

"I'm sorry too. You were right, that was what I wanted for a while. But things changed."

"I get it. I do. No one has had this effect on him." I knew what he meant, that side of Adam is barely popping up without provocation.

"Come on, let's get back." As soon as we entered the room I headed to Adam and got nestled into his side.

"This is my girlfriend, Natasha." He introduced me to the guys and I gave a little wave.

"She's awesome." Jesse added, giving me a cheeky wink that made me laugh.

"Hey, welcome to the family." PJ eyed me suspiciously, looking between me and Adam and most likely working it all out. I just hope no one questions it, because Adam has been doing so well and something like that will knock him right back again.

"Now. I want to show you the song, alright babe?"

"You got it." I gave him a quick kiss before he jumped to his feet, he was a little ball of energy right now. ADHD. He can barely sit (or stand) still, but it's just something else that makes him adorable. At least I think it's adorable anyway.

"Baby, I'm preying on you tonight.Hunt you down eat you alive.Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals.Maybe you think that you can hideI can smell your scent from miles.Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals.Baby, I'mSo what you trying to do to meIt's like we can't stop we're enemiesBut we get along when I'm inside you. You're like a drug that's killing me,I cut you out entirely. But I get so high when I'm inside you.Yeah, you can start over, you can run free. You can find other fish in the sea,you can pretend it's meant to bebut you can't stay away from me.I can still hear you making that sound, taking me down, rolling on the ground. You can pretend that it was mebut no.Baby, I'm preying on you tonight..." He sang.I loved it. Despite the kinda strange sound, you know but it sums up that side of Adam, I have no doubt about the frame of mind he was in when he wrote that.

"It's beautiful." I cheered, jumping up to kiss Adam who span us round in a circle, making the both of us laugh.

"You didn't think it was too much?" I knew what he meant, I could see the doubt in his eyes.

"Adam, baby, I love all of you. Okay. If the other you wrote this, then I don't care because I love you and I love the song." His face lit up with a smile.

"I am so lucky." He pulled me into a kiss.

"Tell me about it." I teased. "Now I'm sure you have some work to do, so go do it." I shoved him away playfully and fell back onto the sofa. Jesse seemed amused by our interaction, possibly a little surprised at it all, the others were just shocked. It's possible they met some of the others, in which case they wouldn't expect this, and even if they had only heard stories then they'd still not expect this.

"Fine bossy pants." He rolled his eyes at me and turned back to the band. "What can we work on then?"

"How about..." Mickey began.

"What about..." James started. It seemed no one had any ideas at all.

"Sorry, what was that song called?" I interrupted, looking over at Adam.

"We were thinking 'Animals'." He responded, after receiving noises of agreement from the others.

"Oh, cool, I like it." I smiled.

"New Love!" PJ blurted, all eyes fell on him. "That's a song we can work on, we never finished it completely. But we can do that now." He shrugged.

"I guess you are right about that." Adam nodded.

"Yeah, actually, it'd be good to get that one finished." Jesse agreed, he shot me a sweet smile. "How about after we finish the song we all go out of a late lunch?"

"I'd love that, Nat?" Adam looked over at me for confirmation, I nodded earnestly. It would be a great opportunity to get to know all the boys better.

"That sounds great. Is everyone in?" I asked, they all shared looks with each other before everyone agreed that they would come too. "Adam, I'm gunna call my parents. I'll be outside." I kissed his cheek quickly as he nodded, we both decided I couldn't cut them out of their lives, not without a decent reason.

"When you come back we can show you the song." He promised, the smile reflecting in his eyes made my heart leap.

"Alright babe. Looking forward to it." With that I left the room, gently closing the door and falling into one of the armchairs that were in the corridor. It took me a minute or two to build up the courage to dial the number and press the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" My Dad's voice echoed through the phone.

"Hi Dad, it's Nat."
