CHAPTER ONE
ASH

———

It was three years ago when Ash first came across a band that would change her life forever.

Together with her friend, Genesis, they were both wandering inside the mall that was built a few months back. As with every mall, it was occupied with shops, new and old. Each floor of the building had different shops.

The first floor had a food court with various types of food for anyone to try - the tables and chairs occupied the large space. Kiosks - of boutiques, salons, emporiums, and more - were stationed all around the ground floor.

The second floor was where the shops are located. Ash and Genesis had a little shopping impromptu - clothes, jewelry, and make up. They even made plans and promised to spend one of their day off at the popular spa that everyone had recommended they try.

On the third floor, only one thing took up the entire floor. Although Ash was confused and skeptical about whatever was inside the large door they faced, it brought a smile to her face when she entered and noticed it was a stage.

The backdrop was a black-colored wall, probably to focus on the performers - she didn't know. The lighting was dim - and mainly focused on the singer.

A couple of people stood - bobbing their heads and swaying their bodies as they vibed with the music. There are tables and seats in the corner of the room - where a group of friends had some drinks and chatted softly to avoid the attention of the people listening in.

The soft and gentle beat of the drums and guitar - paired together with the singer's raspy and low-pitched voice - sounded wonderful and pleasant to the ears.

Genesis pushed her inside, wanting to get a closer look at the members. She pulled Ash towards the middle of the crowd. They fit right in with the crowd - enjoying the calm and peaceful mood the band emitted.

Ash focused solely on their singer. He was fairly tall, with black hair and a good sense of fashion. He closed his eyes singing - pouring out all the emotions behind the lyrics.

The drummer and guitarist also performed their hardest. Making no mistake, and managing to show of their skills as if it was child's play.

Ash smiled softly. It was surprising to her - seeing a small concert that had great music and an even greater crowd. As the song had finished, everyone gave them a round of applause.

The clappings stopped when the singer raised his hands - signaling he had a few words to say.

"Hello everyone and thank you for watching our performance. We are 'One for U'". Genesis raised an eyebrow to Ash, as if she was suggesting something. She rolled her eyes in response, knowing Genesis meant it as a joke.

"It was a great experience having you all listen to our original song. I hope you will support us in the future as we make it big."

There was another wave of applause. Ash and Genesis joined in. The group all stood up to leave the stage - but as the singer stood up, he kept eye contact with Ash. Surprised to meet his eyes, she gave a big smile - in hopes to get her support accross. And just as he left her view, he smirked and gave her a wink - leaving Ash flustered with Genesis squealing like a fourteen year-old girl.

Ash knew she fell for that smirk the second he did.
