CHAPTER TWO
ASH

---

It had been three years since then - three years and she still was a fan. She attended their performances when she could. She even followed their social media's for updates.

And after a year of performing in small clubs and resturants, they were finally contacted by an agent from a famous music agency.

Every fan from before they were famous was excited for them. Everyone was supportive as they entered their first ever real concert with a new masterpiece to play.

Ash was lucky she got it - after the tickets nearly being sold out as she bought it. It was that concert that they introduced themselves more.

Caleb, their drummer, was the pessimist of the group. When he told everyone how he expects the worst in everything, the fans were just as relatable. He has a love for black clothes and dyed his hair white to signify their new beginning.

Seth, the guitarist, was the child of the group, being the youngest. He was talented witn stringed instruments - recieving an 'ooh' from the crowd and howled to show his talents, which he demonstrated with a few stringed instrumrnts they could find right after. All the more so as his cheeky smile and charming and eccentric personality gathered fans of all genders.

Khael, the leader and lead singer, was the scary oldest brother - from what his members had said. His rough voice singing soft and gentle words, attracted everyone. He revealed that he was an animal lover earning 'aww's - to which Seth said he was always farming them. His tall height and a love for animals earned him the title of "Soft Giant".

It wasn't a surprise of how far they've gotten -with how big their platform and fanbase are.

She looked through her phone's gallery - reminiscing the times she met them. And it was only then her aunt chose to message her.

---

JEM

Will you be able to visit this week?

---

It was her aunt. And despite being how tired she was from work, she felt herself even more tired.

All the happy and giddy feeling she just gathered disappeared like smoke.

It had been months since she last visited her family. Well technically, her aunt's family. She hated spending her time with them. It was nothing but pure anxiety and fear as they come up to her for anything they want.

---

Yeah, I can.

Mae had a job for you.

Why me?

Why are you complaining?
You need more money right?

I don't. Just give it to John. I'm just visiting not working.

Too late. The employers are coming this week. You need to be here before them.

---

This is why she was so eager to leave. Her cousins, Mae and John, were older by a couple of years yet she was the one who had to do things for them. Her aunt, Jem, was overbearing. She wasn't strict but hated the simplest mistake Ash did and punished her for it.

"I raised you. Be grateful." Jem would remind her every time Ash cried during her punishments. As if it was to have an excuse for their actions.

Although not everything was bad, not everything was good either. Having a room of her own, it provided her a sense of relief, away from their constant spiteful words about how they were as a person.

Ash was tired and she knew it, but she needed to visit them soon or her mother would coerce her to doing so. Bettee just do it now then later with all the drama.

So she packed up a suitcase and texted Mae for whatever she had been employed to. Her pay from her part-time jobs were doing well. Even if she was still at school, it supported her well enough to not ask money from them. Hell, she still got some more from her savings.

She sighed. Bracing herself, she told herself. "Let's just get this over with."
