CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
ASH

———

The concert finished, but not without a thousand fan girls shouting at the end - and Ash was sure she heard some deep and rough shouting from the crowd. After the cheering had receded, Khael glanced around the stadium, searching for something - or someone. His eyes gaze at the little cubicle from where she and Genesis are and his eyes paused.

From where she could see, Khael's eyes lit up. Her heart swelled at the gesture. This man didn't know what kind of effect he had on her and it was concerning - for her heart, that is.

"Thank you everyone for listening to our new song 'Love Like This." Khael paused as the crowd cheered. "This song is for that special person out there. I hope you liked it. We'll be taking a short break and we'll be right back."

The crowd roared. The suggestive words made each fan, as she could see from their room, fawn in the expectation that the song was just for them. But she knew it was for her - at least she assumed it was. Khael was then called by Seth. Watching him disappear backstage, Ash wanted to see him, to tell him that his feelings were mutual. Ash stood, rushing to the door.

"Where are you going?" Genesis asked.

"To Khael," She hoped Genesis wouldn't question it.

"Do you know where to go?" Genesis stood up, holding her hand and dragging her somewhere - to where she might see him, she thought.

They rushed past the crowd of staff that was doing everything they could to manage the public. Talking loudly and screaming fans were all around her. She was exhausted rather quickly. Everything around her seemed to be so much. The lights that traveled from one side to the other, the number of people talking, the noise from their chattering, and the heat from being beside them made her feel faint. Although she admitted, she'd gladly faint just to stall some time. But, she needed to talk to him, and quick.

They finally reached the entrance backstage, the place was swarmed by fans yelling out the names of the members - with a rather high-pitched squeal that was painful to the ears. Genesis didn't bother covering her ears - knowing her voice would be louder than all their yelling.

"Faith!" Her voice was loud - not as loud as the crowd altogether but loud enough to call the staff's attention. Ash held her laugh as she saw their angry faces.

"What's your problem?" A girl with black hair spoke up. Genesis ignored her, knowing better than to fight. Faith soon appeared. She looked confused when someone directed her to them. The confusion on her face soon disappeared, replaced with a happy smile.

"I'm so glad you could make it," Faith waved her hand at the guard, motioning the security to let them in and to the dismay of the people behind them.

"Why'd you let them in and not us?" Ignoring their protests, Faith led them inside.

The place was not as crowded as it looked from the outside - seeing as the people that were just having a coffee or a snack were standing just by the entrance. The place was littered with containers filled with wires and any equipment the people may need to use.

Reaching the end of the tour - and backstage - she could see the boys gathering around someone holding a box of donuts. Each of them was munching on a donut, smiling through the sweat from their performance. There were some people who were fanning and wiping their sweat, others trying to retouch their make-up.
