Sonic the Hedgehog: The reunion of three friends

Chapter 13

Rika's pov

Just after we walked outside. We headed out to the woods. Jewel turn to me and said, "You two go on I'll go get us some lunch." I asked, "can ya get me chili-cheese fries?" She replied, "No prob sis." She walked off as Sonic asked with a chuckle, "Chili-cheese fries?" I replied as we walked in the woods, "Hehe. It's a long story.." he then said, "Ehh. I don't blame you. I now like chili-dogs. It's kinda similar to chili-cheese fries." I giggled as I said, "Guess we both." I then looked down. Sonic immediately noticed and asked as we stopped, "What's the matter Rika?" I replied with tears in my eyes, "I miss Jericho as much as we missed Grey-Sky. He was so kind to me after my parents perished." He replied as he hugged me, "I miss him too. He was a year younger than we were. I remember the day we have met him."

Me and Sonic were only a year old when our caretakers, LongClaw and Jericho were taking care of us. Though there were two more children but that's for another time. We were playing with each other while Jericho was probably out getting mice for LongClaw. She was watching us play when a female voice said from behind, "LongClaw?" Sonics caretaker gasped lightly before she turned and said, "Sister." It was LongClaw's older sister BrightWing. She looked like LongClaw but her armor was silver and her wings were a bit brighter than her sisters. Hence the name BrightWing. LongClaw went towards her and asked in worry, "BrightWing what brings you here? Your covered in ash and cinder." BrightWing replied with, "I'm sorry. There was a echidna tribe attack at the wolf village and I..." she trailed off as LongClaw put a wing on BrightWings shoulder and said, "You what? Please tell me BrightWing." She answered LongClaw as she showed a young wolf cub, "I was only able to save him. Mira told me to. She passed away just after I took him. Poor thing.." Jericho 'who came back from getting mice for LongClaw' said as he heard everything, "How awful. These echidna tribes are proving without a doubt to be so heartless. That's 6 villages they burned down while murdering villagers. We were all lucky that some villagers survived." LongClaw sighed and said to her old love life and best friend, "Yeah even the children." She then turn to her sister and said, "BrightWing my sister. You should stay with us. I already took in three children as much as Jericho has taken in a young girl." BrightWing nodded and said, "Thank you. You have no idea how glad I am to see you survived." LongClaw then asked as she looks at the wolf cub, "So who is this young wolf cub?" BrightWing replied, "This is Storm-Cloud's son." Jericho asked in surprised, "Storm-Cloud? As in the tribe leader Storm-Cloud?" BrightWing nodded and said, "Yes this is Grey-Sky. He was born about 7 months ago. I took him in about 5 months ago just after the echidna tribe attacked." Jericho asked, "You think Storm-Cloud survived?" LongClaw answered, "I'm not quite sure. We'll haft to talk about this outside. Would it be okay if Grey-Sky sits and plays with the other two? The oldest of the three children will be back shortly." BrightWing nodded and brought Grey-Sky 'who was waking up' sees Sonic and me playing. LongClaw said to the two, "Sonic. Rika. This is my big sister BrightWing. This is your new friend Grey-Sky." She then turn to Sonic and said, "Sonic I know you may not understand but I need to talk to my sister and Jericho for a bit. Your twin sister is almost done with her nap and your big brother will be back shortly. I'll have him watch over you three while we talk." BrightWing put down Grey-Sky. BrightWing sighed just after putting him down. She then said, "I wish Father was here to see this. He woulda approved us raising them." LongClaw placed her wing on her shoulder and said, "I'm sure father would have loved them. Let's go." They walked out. The moment we looked at Grey-Sky for the first time. He was really shy. But we warmed up to him nice and smooth. he was happy. He sped around just like me and Sonic. He stopped and laughed. At that moment we became three fast friends.

Now here we are just two out of three friends. We arrived at that Indian style village we were surprised. It was like a modern style Indian village. Although most of the villagers were wearing feathers on their heads. We walked into the village together as everyone there looked at us in surprise. Not in a bad way luckily. We heard one of the kids in the village said the same thee kid, "Wow I thought the wolf was the only one." The other kid replied, "It makes me wonder not all space creatures are bad. Besides these two might good too." A third kid said to them, "I heard that boy hedgehog over there saved our neighboring small town of Greenhills from that mad man with the robots and banished him to another world of mushrooms." A fourth child come up to them and said, "I also heard that female hedgehog right there saved a young girl and trashed that gay away camp and freed the campers there." The first child said to them, "Makes me wonder if they are going to be heroes or maybe even freedom fighters." One after another we walked passed them. Sonic asked, "Who's in charge of this village?" Everyone turned to another and murmured. One villager said, "I know who is in charge. He's in his tent. So why are you both here?" I replied, "We are here to see what's going on. We hear you have been having a protector here for 10 years. We're also possibly here to solve your poacher problem." Everyone muttered to each other. Luckily not in a suspicious or bad way. I asked, "Anyone know where we can find him?" A few the children said as they pointed at the tent a few feet away, "Right there is where you can find him." We thanked the kids and walked to the tent. Just after we walked in, we saw an old Indian man between his 50's and 60's. And I ain't fucking kidding when I am telling you all this. 'Excuse me language'. He was sitting in front of a fire before he looked up as us. He said to us, "hmm. Really nice to see a boy and his girlfriend together." I said to him as I pointed at Sonic, "Sonic's not my boyfriend. He's just a friend." Sonic then said to him, "Rika and I 'Do Not' think of each other that way. She's just a friend." The old man chuckled and said as he shook his head, "Thats what they all say." Then the old man said as he looked back at the fire, "I know why your here. Me and my people do appreciate you both and the sheriff coming here to help us. But we have a protector in this village to make sure poachers don't come here ever again." Sonic asked, "So where is this protector of yours?" The old man replied, "He's patrolling the area. We thought we would be at the mercy of those dreaded poachers forever. Until a young wolf came. The villagers thought he be terrorizing us. But when he stopped the poachers by his powerful howl it made me think this cub has a good heart. He protected us since the age of five. As much as we protect him from others that may hurt him." Both heard a scream or two before they sped out. One of the children said, "Whoa they are as fast as Grey-Sky." Another kid said, "I agree." I coulda sworn they said 'Grey-Sky.' I'm not sure if it's our Grey-Sky. Is it...?
