A/n--I have a procedure tomorrow and am not going to feel like publishing so here ya go, a day early.
We landed on solid ground. I didn't remember the journey here. I saw a hand in front of my face and it belonged to Loki. "Here, let me help you, dear," he said. I nodded and he helped me up. I saw Thor speaking to the gatekeeper, who's name I recognized from basic Norse mythology, Heimdall. I turned around and saw two horses waiting for us. "Come on, I'll help you onto the horse," he said. He grabbed me by the waist gently and lifted me onto the saddle. A moment later he was on the same horse. Loki's arm was on my waist, and the other was on the reins. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were enjoying this," I smirked.
"Oh, damn. You've caught me."
Loki kissed me on my neck and I leaned my head back. We reached the palace, oh the palace! It reached the clouds, and then some. And its color was the color of the sun. Two of the guards took the horses to the stables while Thor said, "Lady Y/n, we need to get you ready for the Allfather." It was as if I was being presented as a pig at a banquet. Loki opened his mouth but Thor was one step ahead of him, saying, "Yes, Loki. You can escort her."
We passed what must have been the entrance to the throne room and went upstairs. We went down a winding hallway and Loki came across a maid carrying an empty woven basket. "Ma'am, I need you to fetch a fine, green and gold gown for my lady," he said. The maid nodded and quickly tittered off someplace. I elbowed him. "Green and gold, is it?" I winked.
"Traditionally, ladies of the court wear their partner's colors on their gowns."
I nodded and soon the same maid came back with an elegant to say the least, green and gold gown with different patterns on it. "Oh, this is beautiful. Thank you," I said. The maid nodded and took her basket, walking off towards a different wing of the palace. Loki took me to what must have been his bedroom and said, "Just let me know if you need help, alright dear?" I nodded and went into the bathroom.
There were so many damn layers to that dress. I noticed it was padded so I didn't have to wear a bra, but the back, oh Hell, the back! Clasps everywhere! Thank the gods it was so beautiful otherwise I might have burned that dress. I came out of the bathroom nearly tripping over myself. I could see Loki was stifling a laugh. "Shut up and help me with the clasps," I grumbled.
"As my lady wishes."
He mockingly bowed and I turned. He finished up the last clasp after many swears and pinching his fingers thrice. I began to turn around but he said, "Wait." I hummed in curiousity and Loki kissed me on the nape of my neck. "Romantic," I laughed. "Come on, we don't want to keep Thor or Odin waiting," Loki said, holding out his hand.
We reached the throne room and Thor was patiently waiting for us. "I apologize for the wait, brother," Loki said in an eerily polite tone. "No need. Let's hope that Father is in a good mood today," Thor responded. We approached the throne where an old man was sitting atop it with a kind, warm looking blonde woman in a beautiful gold gown. I felt faint and like I was going to pass out. Thor bowed, placing his right arm on his chest and Loki and I followed, me in a curtsey. "Rise," the man said. "My sons, is this the Lady Y/n that you have spoken of?" He asked.
"Yes, Allfather. Loki has fallen desperately in love with her."
"Right. Has she eaten the apple?"
"She has, Allfather."
"Good. She may stay. Loki, show her to her quarters. You are excused."
The Allfather dismissed us and Loki took me towards his quarters. "That was nothing less of nerve wracking," I said once we were inside. Loki chuckled and relaxed. "Here, you need to change and lay down. The transition from mortal to Asgardian will not be easy," he said in a more solemn tone.
"How long will it take?"
"Three days, give or take. You'll be alright, you're strong."
Loki kissed me and snapped his fingers. I was suddenly in a silk light green nightgown. "I'll bring you some books if you want. Just let me know if you need anything, alright?" He said. I nodded and squeezed his hand. Loki left, keeping the door a crack open. I noticed he left a journal with a pen. I wrote my name in the corner of it and it disappeared.
So you've discovered the magic of it?~L
This is a magic journal? Is this how I'll alert you?-Y/n
That and other ways. The magic of the journal enters my head so I can hear what you're writing in my head~L
I nodded and shut the book. I assumed he would know that I didn't need anything. The sun was still relatively high in the sky so I decided to get a good nap before dinner. I pulled the blankets over me and hugged the pillows tightly.
