"Y/n! Y/n, up, now!" The panicked voice of Loki yelled. I bolted upright and immediately smelled smoke. "Loki, what the hell is going on?" I asked groggily.
"The ship--the ship is under attack! Thanos is coming. He's--"
"Loki, slow down. Who's coming?"
"Thanos. The one who sent me in New York. He's here, we need to go!"
My eyes widened in terror as I truly took in the gravity of the situation. Loki lifted me out of bed and used his magic to give me some armor. We attempted to get to an escape pod but it was too late. He was here.***************
"Hear me, and rejoice. You have had the privelige of being saved by the children of Thanos," one of his minions said. Thor was already down, trapped under the ship's rubble. Thanos had somehow absorbed our ship, and taken us hostage. Nobody had heard our distress call...nobody cared. My breath hitched in my throat as I held onto Loki's hand. Thanos lumbered forward as I came face to face with him for the first time. I teared up and squeezed Loki's hand. Please, don't leave me.
Never, darling.
"I know what it's like to lose," he said. "To feel so desperately that you're right...it's frightening. Turns the legs to jelly," he continued, picking Thor up as he cried in pain. "Don't you dare touch him!" I screamed, running forward. Loki grabbed my arm and pulled me back. Thanos walked towards me and smiled wickedly. "A fighter, I see. What's your name, little one?"
"I'll never tell. I know your name. And I know what you've done."
I somehow didn't break eye contact with the murderous, frightening Mad Titan as I said those words. He smiled at me and cocked his head. He didn't say anything but lifted his gauntlet. "I am inevitable," he smirked. A purple stone glowed. Loki, what's happening?!
He can't be doing this.
He pressed the gauntlet against Thor's head. "The Tesseract or your brother's head. I assume you have a preference?" He asked. Loki looked up painfully. "Oh I do. Kill away," he spat. Thanos used the stone and drilled it into Thor's head. He began to scream and Loki screamed, "Alright stop!" Loki gasped. "We--We don't have the Tesseract. It was destroyed on Asgard. Right, Loki?" I shot him a warning look. Loki smiled at me sadly, yet lovingly.
"I assure you, Y/n, the sun will shine on us again."
He used his magic to summon a familiar blue cube. "No! No!!" I screamed. One of Thanos' henchman used his hand to clasp a metal muzzle over my mouth. He pressed a finger to his lips. "I, Loki, God of Mischief, Rightful Ruler of Jotunheim, Odinson, do swear to you my undying fidelity," he said. I looked behind his back. No. He was tricking him with a fucking knife. I tried to scream but I couldn't. He held the knife up to Thanos' throat but was stopped by the power of the stone. "Undying? You should choose your words more carefully," Thanos hissed. He lifted him up by the neck and he began to choke. Enough. I summoned all of the magic that I had and ripped the bonds off.
Snap.
He's gone. He's really gone. He didn't die when I wasn't looking. I heard his neck snap. Thanos looked at me right in the eyes and said, "No resurrections this time." He vanished with the second stone and then poof. Nothing left. I crawled with Thor to Loki's body and hugged him. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, love. I love you, and if you're not really dead, and I'm just hugging a photocopy, please come back."*****************
I was now drifting through space with Thor. Being an Asgardian meant I could breathe in space where a mortal could not. I didn't necessarily want to though. Loki was gone, and I didn't know if he was alive. As I drifted and thought about all this, I slammed against something solid. Then I heard a screechy voice yell, "Ah get it off! Wipers, wipers!" I opened my eyes but Thor didn't.
We were brought inside by whoever these...things were. I paced around as they checked out Thor. I explained who I was and my relation to Thor. They didn't seem to know who Thor was and they weren't the most polite people in the galaxy. Like I cared about that now. The green girl, who's name was Gamora, sat down with me. "I'm sorry. What was his name?"
"Loki. He was my boyfriend, but we wanted to get married. Someday."
She looked like she wanted to say something but she didn't. "What is it? Say it, I doubt it can hurt me," I shrugged. "Thanos...Thanos is my father," Gamora sighed. I bore my eyes into her soul and pressed a knife against her throat. "Your father killed him! He killed Loki!" I shouted. I hadn't even noticed Thor had woken before he pulled me off of her. "Y/n, stop." He said, taking the knife out of my hands. I crumpled to the floor in a sobbing mess. The Captain of the ship, Quill, knelt beside me. "Hey, he's her stepfather, technically, and she hates him as much as you do."
I laughed pathetically and grabbed a half full beer bottle. A lady with antennae coming out of her head, Mantis pressed her hands against my forehead. She started sobbing and screaming. "That bad?" Quill murmured. "I don't care what we have to do. We are going to kill this son of a bitch."
