When I awake I am in a hospital bed. The last thing I remember was Elliot bringing me to the hospital. Waiting for an hour before Elliot got pissed. Got checked in, I have a sprained ankle. They are providing me with a boot to wear since I'm going out of town and will be active. Elliot had left because a nurse insisted on aiding to his injured nose and cuts on his face. Thankfully, it wasn't broken.
Elliot wheeled me out to his truck and we started heading home. It was around one in the morning and our plane departs in seven hours. Elliot hands me a phone that's not his.
"I bought you a new phone." He keeps his eyes on the road. "I sat on the phone with a representative for over an hour switching your phone number over and everything. I contacted your friend and let her know everything that happened and that you were okay. She wants you to call immediately. Your boss was blowing up your phone making sure you would be ready. I didn't give him the full story, but I let him know what you just went through and that we will be there. I let him know that your own personal body guards will attend as well."
My eyes were huge. Elliot has continued to prove me wrong time and time again. He was good.
"Thank you." I fully mean it.
"Don't worry about it, love."
"No seriously, thank you. If it wasn't for you I don't know what would've happened to me. I can never thank you enough." I grab his right hand and hold it tightly.
He nods and provides a soft smile. When we arrive we go out separate ways to pack. The plan was pack, sleep, leave. I start to call Kalani but I notice her vehicle already there. When I get inside her and Sawyer were moving the broken furniture. She rushes to give me a hug. I cry into her arms as she cries into mine.
"I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you. I called the police, I should've known that bastard would get his way out of it." She glares.
Kalani hugs Theo next before he got away. "Thank you so so much."
He gives her a smile and head to go pack.
"Good seeing you Sawyer." I give him a hug before he heads outside.
"Please get some rest. Don't worry about packing, I know you inside out and packed everything you need and more. I laid out a comfy outfit for the plane ride." She hugs me tightly. "I love you, Mel."
"Thank you so much." I hug her tightly. "I love you too."
I rub Rex's belly before he left back with Aunt Nae. I'm happy he's a fighter and didn't let Colts abuse phase him. I laid in my bed, but all I could recall were memories of him touching my body in bed last night. Placing unwanted kisses and invading my home. I couldn't do it. Thankfully, I had some crutches in the closet. I hobble my way over to Theo's. I knock on the door, making sure I had wiped away any residual tears. He comes not too long after the knock. He didn't say a word, he just let me in, lead me to his bedroom, and made sure I was comfortable.

Here we go, on a plane to Barcelona. I've done book signings before but never in another country, never this far away. We were on the plane, all of us. Theo, Issac, Issac's friend, Gage, Maxwell, and me.
Theo wanted the window seat but insisted I take it. He's been good to me, so good to me. I'm unsure what we are at the moment. I think he just didn't want me by Maxwell. He was a major flirt. I had my neck pillow on and my laptop out. I needed to write. I had so much to say, so much to release. Theo was preoccupied with his sleep so I was not worried about him reading over my shoulder.

The past always finds away to bite me squarely in the ass. My ex boyfriend, the person I fear most. The person who hurt me for years, physical and mentally. A restraining order means nothing to him, as if he is above the law. My home was sacred, only few knew where I lived, only some were allowed over. I could not put my sanctuary at risk and that is exactly what happened. You found me at my local park. God do I wish that I wouldn't just stayed home. A day going so amazing, so exciting just to become one of the worst days of my life.
You know where I live. You know my address, you know the color of my front door, you know the color of my comforters. You know the texture of the wall you threw me against, you know the color of the wall you punched a hole through, you know the wooden flooring that you pushed me down on that hurt my ankle. You are aware of it all, yet you still somehow believe that you're good.
So I dedicate this chapter to you. You have taken everything from me. Allow me to correct that sentence. You tried to take everything from me. You tried, but my happiness still is alive and flourishing. I am happy because you did not break me. I am happy because I have such amazing people in my life who will go to war for me.
I loved you once. I truly did, you had my heart and no one could take it from you. I will never understand how one day you could love someone so much, then hate them the very next day. I say this because you hate me for some reason, for some reason you hate all of me and want me to be miserable. You envy the smile on my face and every time you seen it, it destroyed you. You are a sad individual who has beat me down so many times. And although I never want to see you again, I forgive you. So please, let me go.
You continue to amaze me. You saved me, you are the reason I am on this plane at this moment continuing to pursue my dreams. I want to know you on a deeper level, I want to connect with you. I want to know you personally and I want to be your one and only. I've said it once and I'll say it again. You are rare and pure. I'm starting to think I do not deserve you. Although maybe I do, maybe you're my fairytale.
Your friends insisted on coming. I wasn't going to refuse, especially since they helped me. What would be your thoughts when you realize we have to share a room now, let alone a bed. Will you be secretly happy, upset, uncomfortable, satisfied?
I feel Theo shift beside me and I close my laptop. I put it in my bag and when I look back his eyes grace me.
"How are you feeling?" He rests his hand on my thigh.
"I'll be fine." I give him a smile.
"You're safe, Mel. As long as you're with me, you're safe." He whispers before planting a kiss on my cheek.
I'm safe. As long as I'm with you, I'm safe.
