Chapter 30

Melody Venus Stone

Oh where do I begin. It would be stupid to say I was in love right? I couldn't possibly be in love with you so soon. I could name all your endless traits of being caring and thoughtful and genuine but I will spare everyone else the specific goods.

Barcelona is breathtaking, everything about it is so different from home. At home it all just seems so repeated and plain, well that is until you came along. But here, it is vivid and unexpecting.

We attended a concert. We as in me and you, plus your two best friends. I enjoyed their company for the most part, so I did not fret. The performer was a fan from the book signing who invited us. I figured it was destiny since it was the same band I had wandered up to the night before.

I was called out from the crowd. I had not known he had noticed me. My feet pulled me to the stage and to his voice. He covered a love song and sang it to and for me. You didn't like that too well.

Besides your anger of another, two other things struck my mind. I had bumped into your sister on the way to stage. It took us a second, but we remembered each other from the short FaceTime call. Your relationship with your sisters is blossoming, yet with your parents not so much. So you strayed away. Little did you know, your sisters and I would be the binding rope the end this nonsense.

The other thing that quite bothered me was the repetitive distraction of your phone. It was not the first time it buzzed off the wall. I know, I know you're a busy man with an important career. And I know we have not established a relationship between us, but a woman's intuition is always right. A possible lover had your attention. You explain that it is not so anymore, that all you see is me. I choose to take your word and believe. You have not done wrong by me yet. I say yet, because with a man there is always a yet.

I close my laptop as Theo comes back into the room with a plate of breakfast. There was scrambled eggs, two strips of bacon, some strawberries, and biscuits and gravy.

"Thank you, you didn't have to." I poke out my bottom lip.

"I just wanted to make up for last night." He lies on the end beside me.

"I think you made up for it plenty last night." I remember it all. It was amazing. He was amazing, as was everything about him. I could go for round two now.

He kisses my hand. "My love?"

"Yes Theo?"

"Will you be my girlfriend? I've never felt this way, so strongly connected to another woman. My past relationship never ended good, well the one I allowed to even be called a relationship. But that's beside the point. I want you to be mine and stay mine forever." He narrows his eyes in all seriousness.

I smile. "I thought you'd never ask." I lean in and give him a kiss.

"Don't start something you can't finish." He smirks. "Now eat and get dressed. They need you there in two hours."

He leaves the room and I immediately text Kalani.

Me: I am officially, someone's girlfriend ;)

She texts me back almost instantly.

Lani<3 : Its about time! Tell him if he hurts my girl, his balls are mine. ✂️

Me: lol, he's good to me. I think we'll be fine together. At least I hope so, I hope he doesn't change.

Lani<3: me too, you deserve someone who can love you the right way.

Me: love you so much

Lani<3: love you more.

I finish eating, shower and get dressed. I know it's too soon, but I feel like the swelling in my ankle has gone down a lot. It wasn't nearly as bad as it could've been, but it was very much swollen. I take off the boot and try without it.

"Hey guys." I greet them as I slide into the passenger seat of our rental.

Theo leans over and gives me a kiss.

"Mel, I need this to be quick okay? I'm starving. Your asshole boyfriend didn't share any breakfast but one tiny strip of bacon and egg crumbs. I could barely sleep last night. I'm about to get on the next damn flight home." Gage huffs.

I smile at the fact that he told them.

"Oh shut the hell up, you aren't going anywhere." Theo butts in.

"Venus, this is the plan okay? I'm gonna wink at you for which girl that's the hottest right? You tell her about your handsome, kindhearted, gentleman best friend over there and encourage her to give me her number. Kapeesh?" Maxwell sits up until his face is almost right beside mine.

"Max, you're very handsome. I don't think you need my help in getting a girlfriend. " I smile back at him.

Theo's hand slides over to mine and entangles our fingers.

This library was just as fascinating as the one before. The play out went exactly the same. Book signings, chapter readings, and then him.

Lucas walks through the door and my attention isn't the only one that he gains.

"Big man has some competition huh?" Issac nudges me.

I roll my eyes. "Not even close."

I slightly glance over and notice Theo's jaw tighten. I put a smile on my face. It wasn't ultimately fake, his presence brought me a remembrance of last night. Him singing a love song to me, one that I knew and loved myself. It all felt so inappropriate, that he was singing it to me with Theo in the crowd.

"Hi Melody, could we talk more privately?" He smiles with his pearly whites.

He was the last one in as we were packing everything up. I was extremely grateful for all the gifts but they were starting to be a bit too much. I didn't know how much I would be receiving.

"Sure." I set the box down and head outside behind him.

"How are you? You left so abruptly after the performance. I hope I didn't scare you off. If I had crossed a line, I completely apologize. I just think you're really beautiful and your mind is so creative."
His eyes search my face for an expression.

I don't know what to do or what to think. But I know for one thing. That Theo is my person. That he would never hurt me, so I will never hurt him.

"I wanna get to know you for you. Will you give us a chance Melody?" He continues.

I part my lips to speak, but nothing comes out at first. I glance back to see Theo, heading this way. It's weird going from Colts aggressive ways and hurtful words to Theo's sweet and gentle ways and to Luke's courageous and desirable words.

"Lucas, you're sweet and I can tell you're such a great guy, but-

"But you're seeing that other fella, who's coming to try and intimidate me now." He looks at Theo then back at me. "But I'll wait for you. I come to America in a couple of months on tour. I hope to see you then and hopefully our faith will be. But until then, ill see you tomorrow." Lucas reaches for a hug in which I return although he gives me a kiss on the forehead before I could oppose.

Theo opens the door, but by then Lucas is in his car and leaving.

"What the hell was that?" Theo wipes Lucas's kiss off my forehead weirdly calm.

"Lucas confessed his love for me and said he wanted to get to know me better. Then told me he would be in America soon and wanted to see me then." I tell him as the guys with Issac and Jo load up all the gifts once more.

He places a kiss on the other side of my forehead. "He'll be waiting a lifetime then." He puts a smile on my face. "Now, let's head home and get ready for dinner. You're meeting my sisters."
