AT THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS Celeste stayed quiet during lectures and rarely answered when there were questions.
But today was different, they would be having Potions and she was beyond excited. She and Alice ate breakfast together with Frank, she was quiet that the both didn't even felt like she was intruding.
While Frank was a sixth year and would have different classes, both girls strode to Potions Class, arriving only two minutes early. And since Marlene and Lily were sat together, Alice sometimes sits with another student so she asked Celeste to sit with her.
They were discussing the Draught of Peace as Professor Slughorn announced that they would be brewing it tomorrow.
He discussed the importance of concocting the potion and Celeste grew tired of listening as it looked like only four people were inside the room; Professor Slughorn who is explaining and asking questions, Lily who is the student who keeps raising her hand, Remus who is scribbling in his notes while answering questions when he can, then there was the Slytherin who Celeste heard was named Snape, he had his head held high as if he was the king of the Potions Class.
A student raised his hand for a question, "Is there any way that one of the ingredients could be replaced with a different one?"
Slughorn was intrigued with the question, he didn't know if there was. The potion was only invented and patented two years ago, so he had little knowledge of the potion. Before he could answer, Lily already shushed the other student and told him that it was impossible.
Slughorn who saw Celeste wanted to ask her, and so he did, "Ms. Prince! What do you think about the question?"
Celeste looked at the professor then around the classroom. She did not miss (once again) Lily's smug smirk. She cleared her throat and smiled too little as she thought, Book smart.
"In other instances, Sunstone can be used as a replacement for Moonstone since they have the same qualities and minerals. However, the effects of Sunstone could be different for the Draught of Peace since there hasn't been a lot of studies about it and that every ingredient could be exclusive for certain concoctions," she spoke loud and clear, her head was held high too like Severus.
Licking her lips as she continued, "For advance potions like this, a change of ingredient could be harmful to the potioneer, be a failed concoction, or have reversed effects." However, she did not see how Sirius looked at what she just did, his jaw clenched at the way she poised herself.
