Chapter Thirteen -

Yeosang stood a few feet away back pressed against the wall just out of sight. The low tone of Jongho's voice could be heard over the tapping of keys and telephone chimes as he spoke quietly to Woo Young. He closed his eyes committing the sound to memory thinking of times Jongho had used the same lilt, lips against Yeosang's ear whispering sweet nothings and dirty thoughts. Carefully he slid along the wall until he could just peek beyond the corner eyes settling on the young alpha.

His white shirt was wrinkled, collar open, tie hanging loosely about his neck as if he had adjusted it several times throughout the morning. Woo Young appeared irritated his whisper rising in volume replying to whatever it was the vice president had said, who looked no better. In fact, he looked worse. Yeosang had never seen the man in such disarray before, even his platinum blonde hair was unkempt and dark underneath the lights as if it hadn't been washed. Jongho was one to take pride in his appearance especially at the office and to see him like this nearly undid all of Yeosang's willpower. He wanted to close the distance between them, wrap his arms around his neck, and kiss away the frown on his lips. The alpha made to leave, and he retracted back to his hiding place hand against his chest at the sudden pain.

"Vice President Choi!" Woo Young barked their voices growing near meaning his secretary was following the man. "Come back here!"

"I believe I said this conversation was over." The young man spat pausing on the other side of where Yeosang hid. His heart raced at their proximity hoping that he would not be caught watching the other.

"No, it isn't over until I say so."

"Last I checked you were a secretary, Woo Young-ssi, not in senior management."

"What I am doesn't matter, what you're choosing to do, does." Jongho did not respond prompting Woo Young to continue. "It hasn't been a week since the presentation, and you're seriously declining Yeosang's proposal?"

"I didn't need a week to make a decision."

"Honestly, my patience with you is barely hanging by a thread."

"And honestly, I don't care." Woo Young scoffed and Yeosang heard a minor scuffle, his body twitching to move at the noise. Was his secretary fighting the vice president? "I suggest you remove your hands, now." Jongho's response was like ice, and he nearly sighed loudly at Woo Young's behavior.

"I still don't understand what Yeosang sees in you. Why he works so hard to ensure your pathetic company succeeds," Jongho growled but the other alpha kept speaking. "You probably don't even realize the sacrifices he's made to afford AZ Limited the opportunities you're throwing away. Or how many sleepless nights he's sat up crunching numbers, calling in favors, and begging his father to give you a chance."

"We're a partnership, Woo Young-ssi, his work is for ANG Corp's gain as much as it is mine."

"ANG's gain?" his secretary laughed. "Did you read last quarter's profit and loss statement? Because of AZ Limited we lost a substantial amount of capital enough that both companies would have been in trouble. If it wasn't for HK Enterprises." Yeosang pressed a palm against his mouth in an attempt to muffle his gasp. He knew Woo Young was going too far but if he showed himself now it may put false hope in the alpha's mind that Yeosang cared, and that would be a bigger problem than what his secretary revealed. After all, Woo Young knew a lot, but he didn't know the entire truth.

"I've heard enough." The vice president's response was weak as if he was near tears and Yeosang squeezed his eyes shut.

"He isn't marrying Han Jisung because he wants too, you know that right?"
