In English class, we had to write a descriptive essay about an significant event in our lives. I wrote about the first time seeing the snow after 3 years of being in hot, eternal 90 degree Thailand.
Honestly, I definitely prefer warmer weather, although I hate getting sweaty. And winter just freezes me to death and my room is so cold.
But as I read my essay that I had written a couple weeks ago, it brought up all of the things that I felt.
Even in the freezing cold, I had been able to feel a sense of happiness.
Being the only one out there with my sister, and the softly falling flakes made me feel as if the world held still just for me. I also remembered the first night back in Delaware that I looked up at the sky and saw the gently but brightly glowing stars in the clear sky.
In that cold frozen time, I had felt something beautiful kindle inside of me which I won't forget.
