It was now after school and I was waiting outside to give Dustin a ride home when him and Mike suddenly run up to me.

"y/n!" They both shouted.

"What? Do I have to give Mike a ride home too?" I asked as they stand in front of me, panting.

"No. We need a favor." Mike says.

I tilt my head up slightly with a confused face.

"It's the championship game and we need a sub for hellfire for Lucas!" Dustin scolded.

"And you expect me to do it? I have cheer! Plus you can ask Erica, I'm sure she'll do it for some money or something." I cross my arms.

"Oh come on y/n we all know you were gonna skip that cheer shit anyways." Dustin scoffs at me and I give him a serious look.

"Okay So what if I'm skipping it! Doesn't mean I'm gonna play some stupid game with some nerds."

"Please y/n. We beg of you!" Dustin says, begging and starting to get on his knees as Mike simply just smiles.

Before Dustin gets fully to the ground, I pull him up quickly.

"Fine! But you fucking owe me for this!" I roll my eyes.

"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! You have no idea how hard it was to find someone!" Dustin starts doing his happy dance.

"Yeah whatever just shut up and take me to your club shit." I say as I start to follow Dustin and Mike to a secret room in the school. I walk in with them to see a bunch of guys sitting in a circle around a table, with a boy on a throne at the end. It was the same boy from lunch, and he had a confused look on his face.

"Who the fuck is this?" He asked.

"Its y/n. Lucas' sub." Mike said nervously.

The boy smiled as he got up. He slowly walked towards me before saying, "So your the infamous y/n I've heard so much about." He smiled.

"Yeah don't get your panties in a bunch." I say, clearly not in the mood.

"Feisty are we?" He smirked as he looked me up and down.

"Hey dude that's my damn sister!" Dustin said as Eddie chuckled.

"Oh shut up Henderson. Anyways, what are you y/n? Level one dwarf?" He got closer to me.

"Actually I'm level 14 and I'm also a chaotic good half-elf rogue. So it's Lady y/n to you." I scoffed. Being Dustin's sister had some advantages, like knowing how to play some stupid game, and being good at it too.

The boy in front of me quickly smiled before throwing out his hand in front of me. I shook it firmly.

"I'm Eddie, welcome to hellfire." He said before sitting back down on his throne. I sat next to Dustin as the game started.
Hellfire was a club where you played dungeons and dragons for hours. It's a confusing game, but you get the hang of it quickly if your smart enough. You have to roll dice that has 20 sides and go on fake quests to defeat all sorts of monsters.

"Well my friends...it appears that vecna lives!" Eddie shouted dramatically as he slammed down the vecna game piece, and everyone booed and shouted angrily.

"You are scared, you are tired, you are injured. Do you flee vecna and his cultists? Or stand your grand and fight." Eddie asks.

I look around the room to see everyone worried.

"I say we fight." Dustin says, with a pencil in his hand.

"To the death." Everyone says after him, starting to chant it.

We all keep rolling dice until finally, Vecna has 15 hit points. It's time for me and Dustin to roll.

Dustin rolls, everyone focusing on him, and the dice lands on a 11.

"That's a miss!" Eddie says proudly, shaking his head around as everyone yells their "no"s and "shit"s.

Now I'm up. I cup the dice in my hands as I shake them, feeling everyone's gaze on me, and Eddie basically burning a hole through me as he stares intensely. If I don't roll an exact 20, we all die and vecna wins.

I finally release the dice, as it bounces three times, before landing on a 20 in front of the vecna game piece. We won.

I could feel Eddie still staring at me but with a surprised smile as everyone cheers around me, and one guy, Gareth, picking me up.

As I get down a swift "Good job Henderson girl." slips out of Eddie's mouth as he gets up.

It's now all over and everyone's starting to leave. I get up and wait for Dustin to go to the car.

"I'll meet you in the car y/n." Dustin says, as he stays back with Eddie.

I go to the car and soon after Dustin hops in.

"Why did you stay back?" I ask as I start the car.

"Eddie was asking about you, but of course I didn't say anything." He had an annoyed look on his face.

"Oh." I say, before starting to drive off. Before leaving the parking lot, I notice Eddie standing outside of the hellfire door, waving goodbye. I smile before finally driving home.
