Hiden-sensei gave each group's leaders an envelope. Once we all received one, we were allowed to open it up.
"For your first challenge in this special exam, we thought we'd start off nice and easy to give you a chance to bond with your group."
Ryouta carefully opened the letter and checked its contents. We all peered over his shoulders to see what it said.
"That's why, your challenge for today is a Scavenger Hunt! Your task is to go around the outdoors school to find all ten items and bring them back to the hall first! Since this is your first challenge, we won't have any additional punishments, but we will be giving the team that wins first special privileges! Please check your letters for more details."
A scavenger hunt, huh...? It looks like more detailed rules were on the sheet Ryouta had. Listed were also the ten items.
Super fun scavenger hunt! Go find all the items before everyone else!
Rules!
● You must get all ten items!
● You can't "find" items which you already own!
● The time limit is three and a half hours!
● Violence between groups is prohibited!
● The group that comes first will get priority access to the games room!
Find these items!
● A boiled egg
● A rare Vanguard card
● A pair of glasses
● A pair of white socks
● A watch
● An azalea flower
● A left footed trainer
● A dictionary
● A pair of girl's underwear
● A teacher"...these items are really random, aren't they?"
Ryouta laughed awkwardly as he read out what we were meant to find to everyone else.
"This is their idea of a scavenger hunt...?" Matsushita mumbled.
"Alright, I'll be first to say it. Who's gonna the unlucky bastard going to find girl's underwear?" Machida said.
"Wait, before that, does anyone know what azaleas look like? Because I certainly don't." Ikeda said.
We all glanced at each other, before coming to the conclusion none of us knew what this flower looked like. While girl's underwear would be hard to get, at least everyone vaguely knew how we could get them.
In the case of these azaleas, it would be an impossible item to find if we didn't even know what we were looking for exactly. It's in cases like this where I wish Imaishi was in our group, since I could've made him spy on other groups to see if they had an azalea.
"We can't find something if we don't know what it looks like..." Satou said.
"Yeah, between those two items, the flower's probably going to be more troublesome." Zyriot said.
"We should probably decide who's on underwear duty though. I don't want to be the one going around asking girls for that..." Matsushita said.
"Why not? You're an ikemen, girls would do anything for hot guys like you." Machida said.
"It's still embarrassing though... besides, if you're going down that route, what about Ikeda-san? He's more popular than I am!"
"I am?" Ikeda said.
It seems this scavenger hunt is going to be more troublesome than any of us anticipated. I took a cursory look around at the other groups to see their reactions, and similarly, they were just as confused as we were.
"It's kind of annoying that we can't use items we already have... Takanori-san's wearing glasses." Ryouta said.
"Do sunglasses even count?" Ikeda asked.
"Probably? They're also a form of glasses."
"I'm also wearing a watch, so that would've been convenient." Machida said.
