* Obanai's pov*
Kaburamaru and I were playing hide and seek, though I quickly found him. It was 22-0 now as the white snake had unfortunately not won the majority of our games. "Another game?"
    A tired look covered his face, clearly bored of playing hide and seek everyday, all while barely ever winning. "Fine then, what do you want to do?"
    He quickly pointed his tail out the window, towards the lush forest all in which I had never touched. "You and I both know I can't go out there, Mother would kill me" The image of the snake eyed woman covered my memories as I looked away from the window.
    I then headed towards the kitchen of the small tower, to make breakfast as I hadn't had any yet. After eating I worked on doing my chores, cleaning the floors along with the rest of the house, and then bringing out my paints. All different kinds of colors greeted me upon opening the small basket that I held all of my paints in. Earlier I had decided to paint a spot behind the odd piece of decor. Climbing up using my hair I begin to paint a familiar scene, the floating lights.
    "OBANAI, LET DOWN YOUR HAAIIIIRRR!" I had been painting for quite a while, but finished nonetheless. "OBANAI, LET DOWN YOUR HAIR! I'M NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER HERE DARLING"
    Walking towards the window, begrudgingly slow out of spite, I throw my hair out the window, wrapping it on the hook. I always hated this part of mother visiting, as I had to pull her up into the tower. She was so lazy she wouldn't dare to move a finger to get up here.
    "Obanai, my little snake, how do you do that every single day? It's exhausting to watch!" The oddly mouthed woman was pulling on my cheeks through my mask, most likely turning them red. With more pulling she took me over to the mirror, instantly starting to compliment herself while putting me down, most likely to boost her own ego.
    "Well then, why don't you sing me a song since I've come such a long way to visit." Mumbling a string of curses under my breath I pull mother over to her chair, letting her sit down.
    Throwing some hair into her lap and handing her the brush, I sing the song that I've known for so long now, though faster than normal wanting to get to what I wanted to talk to her about. "So, Mother, I've been thinking-" "get on with it Obanai, I don't have forever" that's what I was doing you old hag but sure
" Well then, what I was GOING to say, before I was oh so rudely interrupted, I wish to go see the floating lights."
    " Ah, do you mean the stars? Because you can see that straight from your window, there is no need to go anywhere."
    Expecting this I jump up onto the mantel where I had painted a graph of the stars, where Kaburamaru joined me. ''NO, Mother, That's not what I mean, I have tracked the stars already and those appear every night. These are different, as they only appear on my birthday, which is to remind you tomorrow. So if you would, can you take me to see the lights?" I was getting angry with her trying to convince me into believing her lies.
    Almost Immediately she started to reprimand me, telling me about how immature, stupid, and apparently chubby I was. She pulled me all around the house telling me this, pulling my hair, cheeks, and everything else. She called me names like flower, snake, and pet.
         Quickly I got irritated with this dance of telling me how I would never fit in anywhere but luckily for me she ended it. She then threatened me to not ask to leave this tower, while pointing at my face to warn me. For the second time today my hand flung up to my mouth, more memories appeared and a scowl appeared on my face.
    "Well then, goodbye my little snake, mommy will see you soon!" She then pulled my hair out the window, letting herself out of it. I hope your old ass falls out that window and kicks the bucket.
