We were on a roll. Grace had the flu and she had to stay home for the week. But when she came back, she had five more chapters. She told me that we should take a break for a couple of days. So that what was what we did. Our book was coming along quite nicely, so we would have a finished story. I was about to ask her if we should write a sequel to it before she said, " I am tired of writing." I was quite confused, she repeated herself.

I asked why, she replied with, " It is getting boring and you know that I was never interested in books anyway." I must've looked pretty mad because she tried to reason with me some more.  I was tuning her out because I didn't want her excuses. I told her she should go home and leave me be. I went to my room and began to read to take what just happened off my mind.

I didn't tell anyone what happened between Grace and I. I was also confused because she really loved the idea. When she saw me at school she quickly looked away. She must want some time alone, I thought to myself. But I soon saw her talking with the popular girls. She never liked them but now she was talking with them? I was so mad and yet so sad too.

Everyone had noticed the change because people kept staring at me or at Grace. It was the same at home but no one stared at me thankfully. In my room I saw our story. I picked it up and threw it in the trash. I picked up some paper and began to write a new story. It was going to be about a girl like in the other story who gets to create anything she wants. I wrote at least five pages before I fell asleep.
