[POV ALEC]

Night has fallen and the darkness has completely enveloped my surroundings. I close my eyes and ground myself listening to what nature is telling me. I sense the presence of someone strong. The clouds separate and moonlight filters through the trees illuminating his figure. He's tall and muscular and his stature is intimidating. He looms over me with his teeth bared and his muscles tense. He rumbles a deep, threatening, throaty growl. His eyes glow an impressive golden colour almost like the sun. I feel warm and safe.

The man behind me stops dead in his tracks. Gone is his desire to chase me through the woods.

"Another one," the man speaks barely above a whisper.

I can hear the blood boil beneath his skin. He lifts his gun preparing to shoot us both. I cower but the boy with the golden eyes doesn't falter. I watch with admiration as he leaps into action and transforms from man to wolf. His dark fur glistens in the moonlight as he launches himself at the hunter and rips the gun from his hands. His jaw clamps down on the man's throat and saps the life out of him. He approaches me, blood dripping from his teeth. I bow my head to him, and he presses his head against mine. I raise my face to look into his radiant golden eyes. I let my body shift, closing my eyes as I transform from a human boy into a wolf. He raises his head and howls; I howl with him. In the distance, I can hear another call... just one.

The dark wolf leads me to his home. It is a small and humble townhouse. Not what I would expect a werewolf to be residing within, but I've seen a lot of strange behaviour from werewolves lately, so I'm not too surprised.

Inside the home, a young man with a scent that almost mimics that of the dark wolf hands him so clothes. Their smell tells me that they are closely related.

The dark wolf takes the clothes into his mouth and walks away.

The young man looks at me perplexed. He turns his head to the side curiously.

"I guess you'll be needing some clothes too," the boy says, "you're not as big as Kai, I'll lend you something of mine."

He must be talking about the dark wolf.

The young fetches a plain shirt and blue pyjama pants for me.

"This is all I have that might fit you... I think... I'm not really sure what size you'll be when you shift," he says, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

"I'll show you where you can change," he says sounding disinterested and bored.

He leads me to a bathroom. He closes the door behind me and walks away. I shift back into my human form. The mirror on the wall shows my bruised and dirtied naked body, my hair is dishevelled and my face is swollen. I slip into the clothes that the boy had provided for me and sniff the air. The whole place smells like wolves, as any den belonging to a pack would. Oddly, I only sense the presence of male wolves, in fact, I can only pick up two scents as if no one else has ever been here besides the dark wolf and the young man. I carefully creep out of the bathroom, looking around cautiously.

"Who is he, Kai?" I hear the young man ask.

"I don't know," the other says back casually.

"Why would you bring a stranger back here?!" the young man demands to know.

Kai's eyes glow gold and he stares deep into the young man's eyes. The aura coming of him is imposing.

The young man bares his neck and surrenders, submitting to Kai's will.

"I'm sorry," he says through gritted teeth, not sounding sorry at all.

Suddenly, Kai's gold eyes lock on mine. Noticing this, the young man's head snaps around to look at me.
