You laid on Reiner's couch as he did so as well, the both of you looking up at the ceiling, heads opposite to each other.

"Falco said you have weed stashed around the house. Is that true?" You asked as Reiner took a breath.

"I sold it all. I quit smoking and drinking." He replied as you reached your hand over your head and onto the top of his head to play with his hair

"How so suddenly?" You questioned, knowing it wasn't easy to stop a bad habit.

"That New Years promise. I'm going to be a guy you can rely on. And I can't be relied on if I don't commit to becoming a better person." He said as you rubbed your hand through his hair.

"Reiner can we talk about that night?" You questioned as silence followed.

"What's there to talk about?" He asked as you frowned.

Did he forget? Did he not try to kiss you? No he definitely did. How does he not know?

You let go of his hair, leaning up and turning to him.

He could tell you were moving around on the couch as he leant up and turned to you as well.

"Reiner are you playing with me?" You questioned as he looked confused.

"No. Why, what's wrong?" He asked as you looked at him in the eyes.

"That night we were about to kiss. It's been months since and we haven't said a word to each other about it." You said with concern in your voice.

Before he could respond, you continued. "Did you regret it? Or did you want to forget about it because of someone else?" You asked as Reiner stopped you.

"No I don't regret it, and I never forgot about it. I just thought about the situation you were in, and I thought you deserve better." He said as you looked confused.

"I deserve better? Anyone is better than that asshole Jean. Do you not understand how nice you are to me?" You asked.

"You don't know me, (y/n), you know the me that I allow you to see." He replied with a tone of anger as you didn't like his voice being raised at you.

"I've spent my whole senior year with you. I know you. I've seen the happy you the angry you the sad you, I've seen all of you. So don't say that crap." You said back with sadness in your voice as Reiner looked saddened, grabbing onto your cheek and looking into your eyes.

He leaned closer to you as he closed his eyes, pulling your face towards his, as he pressed his lips against yours gently as you pushed him away.

"No." You said, pulling away and wiping your lips in sadness. You wanted him to kiss you all this time, but not right now. Not in this moment. You wanted him to talk to you, not kiss you.

You grabbed onto your bag and got up, heading towards the door to leave.

"(Y/n), wait." Reiner followed after you as you were ready to leave his house.

"I'm going home." You replied, opening his front door and not turning back to see Reiner. His expression would hurt you even more.

"Did I do something wrong?" He asked with a gentle sad voice as you clenched your teeth, wanting to turn around and say no, but you couldn't.
