Dear petra,
So, high school ended. So much happened this year. First, I moved schools, obviously. Then, this guy, who we all now know as Reiner smashed my phone. That meeting might've been fate, you called it. I became a cheerleader and our school won the championship. That day, Reiner and I went out for dinner together and ordered the most expensive shit on the menu.
Well, enough rambling about Reiner. Remember when we made that bet in grade 9? The one about graduating high school a virgin. Well, I am still a virgin, but I've found something better than sex. I found a guy that loves me for who I am and is someone who is always there for me.
I can't believe you're going to a university so far away. I'll have to cross borders just to see you. But I'm glad you're doing what you love. See you, Petra.Love, (y/n).
"Is this good enough?" You asked Reiner as you showed him the note you were planning on sending to Petra.
"Yes, I especially like the part where you talk about me." He teased as you pretended to slap his chest.
"Alright, now, let's mail this." You said as Reiner leaned over on his bed and got out stickers.
"You need this." He whispered as he slapped on a sticker to the envelope.
"Oh yeah. I haven't done this in a long time. Texting is much easier." You giggled as he got comfortable on his bed again, you laying on his side.
"Receiving a physical letter is a lot more rewarding though." He admitted as you smiled.
"Maybe I should start writing notes and leaving them in your mail box." You said as Reiner lifted his eyebrows.
"Y'know that would be nice." He replied as you put Petra's card next to you, hugging onto Reiner until you had to leave.
Because Reiner and his team won the championship, many universities offered him scholarships, not only because he was the teams captain, but because he was an overall great leader, and the team needed him.
You knew that was what exactly the universities looked for, but you liked to imagine they picked him because of all the good qualities you see in him.
Reiner understands others, and will stand up for the people he loves.
Reiner has an amazing smile that brightens up anyone that looks at it.
Reiner is goofy, and isn't always just a serious football player, though he can be.
Reiner doesn't just care about winning. He cares about the process.
Reiner has a hard drive, and doesn't give up in anything.
Reiner is honest, and he expresses how he feels.
Reiner is sympathetic, Reiner is kind, Reiner is caring, Reiner is optimistic, you could go on and on.
Reiner did accept a scholarship to a school called Scouts university, which wasn't too far from home. You on the other hand, got accepted into plenty of schools, but decided to go to the one you've wanted to go to since freshman year at your old school, Garrison university.
You and Reiner were now positive you would have to make long distance work, but you had no doubt it'd all work out.
Both you and Reiner were also moving to residence, which means you'd be in a dorm at your schools locations, even farther away.
It would be a huge change, from living on the same street to living almost cities apart.
"What are you thinking about?" Reiner brushed his hand through your hair as you looked up at him.
"Nothing, Reiner." You smiled as you leaned up to kiss him.
"Was that part from the note true?" He asked as you looked confused.
"What?" You asked.
"The part about graduating high school a virgin?" He replied as you blushed, forgetting that was in the note.
"Yes. It's not a bad thing, is it?" You asked as Reiner smiled.
"Of course not." He replied as you didn't want to say much more.
You doubted Reiner was a virgin, and you didn't really like the idea of him knowing you were inexperienced.
"Hey. You're the only one that knows when you are ready. Remember that." He said, calming you down. Most guys would just turn a sex talk into having sex and being sexual with their partner, but Reiner only gave you reassurance.
"I know. I'm not sure when I'll be ready, but I know when I am, it'll be with you." You replied as Reiner turned away from you.
He was embarrassed.
"Hey." You slapped his arm as he turned to look at you.
"Don't be a blushing mess, that's my job." You joked as Reiner squeezed you in a hug.
~
You got a job that summer, for extra money before university. You worked at a nearby restaurant as a waiter. Reiner often came by and ate there, just to get a chance to see you at work.
Reiner didn't work, instead, he went to the gym to work out and practiced football with his high school friends.
July went by like that, and the whole time, Reiner had no idea what you were planning for his birthday. His birthday was on August 1st, and although he never made a big deal about it, you were about to go over the top just for the sake of it.
You already got everything you needed, all that was left was getting everyone there.
You ended up talking Keith into giving you the winning ball from that day the boys won the championship, so you could surprise Reiner with it for his birthday.
But before you just gave him the ball, you'd make the entire team sign the ball, and have the cheer team write him a note along with it. Because both the cheer team and football team became close overtime.
Keith was okay with that, because he didn't need the ball anyways, unless it would be framed, but people care more about looking at a huge trophy than a single football.
All you were waiting for is to have a reunion with all the cheer team. You had everyone's instagram, and had a group chat with them, so you told them your plan and they were glad to be able to help you out and meet up again in the process.
