Isle Esme

   The day before we were supposed to leave, Jacob and Embry decided to come with us. The thought of not being able to make sure Renesmee and Silviana would be safe drove them to make the decision. Seth wasn't having it and  insisted on coming along. Unwilling to enforce his will as alpha, Jacob allowed him and Leah to come. He Knew she would be worried about him and had no choice but to allow her to come as well. I was lucky to be able to book them on the same flight. Quill, however, couldn't bear the idea of  being away from Claire. Knowing that vampires may be coming, he decided to stay and help Sam. He was to watch over Charlie and keep an eye out for any signs of the Volturi.
  
   That night Bella, Edward, and Renesmee along with Seth and Leah had dinner at Charlie's. Sue, being a member of the tribal council, knew everything that was going on and why her children were going along. She told Charlie that they where invited to tag along as a summer vacation. In truth Jacob had told Seth that he  would return when school starts back not knowing how long we would actually be gone.
  
   At dinner, while everyone was at the table, Charlie decided it was the best time to ask Sue for her hand in marriage. Of course she said yes and even though it hadn't been that long since Harry had passed away, Seth and Leah both wanted to see their mother happy. Charlie made her happy. No one seemed to hate the idea and in fact thought it was great for the both of them. Bella was so excited for them that she couldn't wait to return to tell us. As she told us all of this, I couldn't help myself and asked "is it not weird that you all are now siblings?" Apparently this had not crossed their minds as Bella turned to look at Leah with shock and realization on her face. Leah returned the same look. Seth was the one who responded excitedly with "I'm happy to have Bella as a sister." All I could do was laugh at this new and so dysfunctional family tree we all was bringing to form.
   
   Imagine the possibilities. Vampires, humans, and shapeshifters forming a family tree unlike anything seen before. As I laid down to go to sleep, I thought more on this. I began to imagine things like, what if Renesmee had a child with Jacob? Surely being half human she could be capable of carrying a child. What if Silviana had a child with Embry? What would the children be capable of? What traits would be passed down? I remembered Bella once said Jacob's dad believed the imprint process was to make stronger wolves. What if it's all meant to lead to a superior species?
  
   The next day we loaded all of our baggages into the cars and headed to the airport. The entire flight was uneventful yet uncomfortable. I couldn't sleep and the constant need to run to the restroom was an aggravation. I was however thankful that Adrian didn't cause any major harm to my already fragile body. It took a lot of convincing for the airline to approve my travel. We explain to them that we were going to see a specialist and so they allowed it. It was 10 o'clock at night by the time we landed. Edward and Jasper was there to meet us as we had planned. We then took a van from the airport to the docks, where Edward had docked the speed boat he and Jasper had rented. From there we headed to Isle Esme.
  
   Along our trip,  Edward informed us, that we are going to be the first ones to arrive on the Island. Carlisle along with Esme stayed behind to handle packing and shipping of equipment he would need to deliver the baby. He had also discontinued the services for housekeeping. Having met only Edward and Bella, Carlisle was confident that the Volturi couldn't get any information from them other then what they already knew. The others decided to do some hunting before they got there.
  
   As we got closer to Isle Esme Edward began to slow down the boat. He looked at Jasper and asked " Do you see that?"
"Yes" he answered.
"What is it?" I asked.
" The lights are on in the house. No one should be there right now" Edward replied.
" Do you think the housekeeper left them on?" Jacob asked.
"No"
Edward didn't say anything else after that but only focused more on the island. I could tell he was concentrating on trying to use his gift. Suddenly the look of concentration turned into surprise. He looked at us and said "there is someone on the island."
" Is it one of the others?" Jacob asked.
"No"
Everyone suddenly became alert and began preparing themselves for anything. We all looked towards the island wondering what Edward knew.
"Well don't keep us in the dark you leech" Leah said. " What do you hear?"
"I don't know how to explain it. As soon as I picked up on it, it was... gone."
"What do you mean? Is your gift going in and out? " Jasper asked.
"I don't know. I just know that someone is there. I felt the connection." As he said that he brought the boat to a complete stop.
"You need to concentrate as hard as you can. Try to see if you can pick up anything else. The spell is wearing off slowly but the more you concentrate and try to use it the quicker you can regain your gift back" Silviana told him as she moved forward to the front of the boat.
"Sit back and relax. Close your eyes. Concentrate on the connection you felt." Edward did what she said. " Your gift is just like a muscle. it needs to be used and exercise in order to grow stronger"

   We all stayed quiet and waited. It seemed like 20 minutes had passed before Edward finally spoke up. "There are two people on the island. That I know for sure. I can only pick up images from one. It's a lot like seeing one of Alice's visions but more animalistic. I'm not sure how to explain it. I'm looking through the eyes of whoever I am picking up on. I am down on all four feet. I'm looking out towards the sea and see nothing. When they turn their head towards the right, I see a woman with long Red hair. I'm waiting for her to tell me what to do."
"Is it someone you recognize?" Silviana asked.
"No."
"Wait?! what do you mean your down on all four feet?" Jacob asked. Silviana turned towards him and gave him a stern look.
"Shhhh!" She turned back to Edward and continued."Is she a vampire?"
"Yes. I know she is also scared. It's has whoever I am reading on edge. Wait...." Edward stopped for a few seconds then said "Oh that's interesting. Damn... I lost it."
" What is it?" Jasper asked him.
"They're afraid it's the Volturi"

  That was unexpected. I'm sure we all thought it was the Volturi themselves. That they somehow knew where we was going after all, but then as everyone else stayed quiet. My mind began to wonder who, or what, was Edward reading? He described it as animalistic. Not once have I ever heard Edward use that kind of description in explaining what he was reading. Not even the wolves.I may not be a vampire anymore but my mind was working at the same speed. At least that's what I figured because I was beginning to believe he was channeling something new.
" What did you mean when you said they are down on all four feet? Could it be another shapeshifter like them?" I asked nodding in the direction of Jacob and his pack..
"When Jacob and the others are in their wolf form, they still think like a human. This was definitely something different."
" Well If they're afraid we're the Volturi, then that makes them allies."
"Rose, clearly you've been up way to long" Leah said. " The lack of sleep has gone to your head. We can't automatically assume that whoever Edward is reading means well."
" What better solution do we have? Either we face the ones that are there on the island or... we run. I am in no condition to run any further. I believe what Edward had seen. We have a common enemy. If we approach with caution, maybe we can gain an ally." I turned to look towards Jasper as if demanding him with my eyes to agree with me. After all he was the one we looked towards when decisions like this are needed.
" I agree with Rose" he responded. " If they are as afraid about the Volturi as we are, then it's worth the risk to see who they are. After all, they're is only two of them against two Vampires, four shapeshifters, and a witch. I believe the odds are in our favor. The best approach would be to slowly come ashore. The Vampire has already knows we're coming." Jasper advised.
  
   Edward never could pick up anything else after that. So we all agreed to slowly approached the island with caution. As we got closer, Edward and Jasper let use know that they could now see them. They stood on the shore watching us. Jasper informed use that the long red hair woman was indeed a vampire and the only other person with her looked like a teenager, not an animal.
