Truth Comes Out

    

I looked over at the clock on the wall it was almost noon. The news will be on soon. When the Volturi left Forks, four people had came up missing. Jessica was one of them. Since then the news had been showing pictures of Jessica and the other missing people asking if anyone has any information to please call Forks police Department. Charlie told Bella that they have no leads and at this point the case is getting cold. She has been upset about it and had repeatedly asked Alice if she has seen anything.

       Unfortunately Alice's visions have been off lately. Honestly she hasn't had any visions at all in the last week. Alice believes she may be dead already and thats why she can't see Jessica. Carlisle believes Alice just needs to rest her gift. He thinks she been trying to watch for to many things at once.

      Edward on the other hand has been distant. Him and Bella both haven't been around much this past week either. Of course Bella would bring Renesmee to see us but Edward would stay at the cottage. I wanted to ask if something was wrong but Carlisle insisted I leave them be. Edward hasn't acted this way since the time he left Bella and tried to get the Volturi to kill him. Just the other day I caught her outside alone. I asked her if Edward was ok. She had a worried look on her face but told me he is fine and that they just wanted some time together.

       As I sat there thinking I could hear Carlisle's car coming up the driveway. Finally maybe now they will be more willing to talk. Carlisle alway seem to have a way to get others to trust him. At that moment Emmett and Jasper came and sat in the living with me while Esme led the witches upstairs to take a shower. I could feel the old hag staring at me as she walked up the steps. So I turned to glare back at her "What is your problem you old hag?" I thought to myself. Then she smiled at me and I began to wondered if she could read minds.

        Before I could put much more thought into it Carlisle walks in with his med bag in hand.

"Esme took them upstairs to get cleaned up." Emmett informed him. Just then Edward and Bella walk in. I look around expecting to see Renesmee but I don't so I ask "Where is my beautiful niece?"

"She's outside with Jacob and the others. He said he would keep an eye on her while we talked." Bella answered. I'm not sure if it was the fact that Edward was so quiet or the worried look on his face but I had had it and before I could stop myself I was yelling at him. "What took you so long? You could have been here sooner. We need you. I don't know what your problem is lately but you need to snap out of it. Talk to us Edward."

He looked at Bella and back at me as he said "I haven't been able to hear anyones thoughts in the past week."

I was shocked and couldn't say anything. This was not what I had expected.

"Thats impossible." Jasper said

"It's ture and my shield isn't working. Normally it feels like a rubber band when I extend my reach but lately I felt nothing . It's like it's gone. As far as we know its just us. Renesmee still has her gift.We didn't want to worry you all so we kept to ourselves." Bella explains.

"I wonder if thats whats going on with Alice. At first I thought she has been concentrating too hard on to many things at once but what if her gift is gone too." Carlisle said

"Is that even possible?" Alice said as she appeared at the bottom of the stairs with Esme standing behind her. 

"I don't know. In all my years i have never heard of a Vampire losing their gift."
