Aspen
It's been weeks and Amanda finally distanced herself from me. I rarely see her in school though. Calum, Michael and Ashton started hanging out again with me in the past weeks, just like old times.
Right now, I'm walking towards the school doors with Mason. We were laughing our heads until someone bumped on me, causing me to fall on my ass.
Mason helped me stand up and I faced that person who bumped on me.
My eyes met Luke's. My eyes softened when I saw a mixture of sadness, anger and betrayal written on his eyes. I noticed tears threatening to spill out on his eyes as well.
"I'm sorry." He croaked and ran. He sounded so broken, and it pains me. I don't know what came over me, but I ran after him.
"Luke!" I called out after him but he still kept running. It was harder for me because he has hella long legs. Finally, he stopped causing me to stop as well. I noticed that we were at the back of the school. He faced me, beads of tears, streaming down his face.
"What do you want?" He sniffed.
"I wanted to know if you're okay."
"Well, I'm not." He snapped.
"Fine, but, want to skip the rest of the day and talk about it?" I asked, I can see him contemplate whether to go or not but finally, he nodded and wiped his tears. I didn't know what I was doing but, I hugged him. He was tensed at first but he hugged back anyways, nuzzling his face on my neck.
"Your hair smells good." He mumbled and I laughed.
"Come on, we better go." I said, pulling away from the hug.
"I didn't bring my car today." He muttered.
"It's alright, I have my car." I assured him and he gave me a small smile.
We made our way towards my car carefully in order for us not to get caught. He went in the passenger seat while I got in to the driver's seat.
I pulled out of the school parking lot and drove off.
"So, where do you wanna go?" I asked, glancing on Luke.
"I found a small bakery not far from here." He said, while giving me directions to where the bakery was at.
I parked the car outside and went inside the small bakery. Fresh baked dough filled my nostrils as we made our way to the counter.
"So what do you want?" Luke said looking through the freezer thingy.
"Uhm, a waffle and strawberry milk, I guess." I said pulling out my wallet but a hand stopped me.
"My treat." Luke smiled with his dimple popping on his cheek.
"Thank you." I said as I gave him a genuine smile.
"Now, go find us a seat, please?" I nodded and went to the table by the window. I observed the people outside, some of them crossing the road, another is busking and lastly, two people caught my eye, they seem to be talking, but they seem so... in love.
I gasped quietly when the guy got down on one knee and pulled out a red box which contained a diamond ring, the girl nodded vigorously and slipped on the ring, it made me smile of how happy they both were. I was interrupted when a tray of food was placed in front of me.
"Enjoy your food." Luke said, pulling out the chair infront of me and started eating. I ate my food as well and casually taking a sip of my strawberry milk.
"Amanda cheated on me."
"Pardon?"
"Amanda w-was cheating on me, that's why I-I cried." He stuttered out.
"I'm sorry, Luke."
"Don't be, it's not your fault anyways." He said giving me a sad smile.
"You don't deserve this and she isn't worth your tears." I said.
"Thanks, but I think I deserved it for being a dick to you." He laughed.
"No, not really." I shrugged.
"I shouldn't have listened to Amanda." He mumbled.
"What'd she say?" I said, clearly curious.
"I'll tell you someday, just not now." He said and I nodded understandingly. There was a comfortable silence as we continued to eat our food.
"Well, what do you wanna do for the rest of the day?" I asked breaking the silence and sipping on my strawberry milk
"I remember that you used to eat a lot of strawberries with sugar on them." He laughed at the thought, completely ignoring my question.
"Wait, you remembered?!" I gasped.
"Why---Wha-Ohhhh!! Yeah..." he chuckled.
"That's great!!!" I squealed and he laughed but soon, his face fell.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled
"For what?"
"For everything that I've done to you."
"I forgive you." I smiled.
"Okay, but let me make it up to you?"
"It's okay, Luke." I chuckled
"No its not. I feel bad, c'mon, please?" He plead.
"Fine." I said, giving in.
"Fine???" He said, eyes widened.
"Yes, Luke."
"Yay! Thank you! Let's go, yeah? I know where we're going next and can I drive your car?" He stood, seeing that I was finished with my food.
"Sure." I said, standing up as well.
We went back to my car and sat on the passenger seat while Luke got in the driver's seat. He started up the car and drove off.
"Where are we going?" I asked curiously.
"You'll see." He grinned.
Before I knew it, we were infront of the park we used to meet up. I got out of the car and walked up to the front of the park and stared at the familiar surroundings.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Luke said from behind.
"You remembered." I whispered.
"Of course I do. Now let's go." Ignition occured inside me when he grabbed my hand. He took out his phone and played the music which I knew was 'Photograph' by Ed Sheeran.
"Dance with me?" He asked me putting out a hand for me to take. I placed my hand on his and my other, on his shoulder while his, held mine and the other, on my waist.
We started to sway to the beat of the music and him, humming some parts of the song.
"They told me, that I used to date you." He said, looking into my eyes.
"Yeah." I sighed.
"No wonder, why I dated you. You're such an amazing person, really."
"Thanks." I said, blushing a bit.
When the song ended, he dragged me to the center of the park and lied down. I layed myself beside him and closed my eyes.
I felt an arm draped on my stomach and pulled me closer.
"Aspie, I might remember you now."
