Aspen
I felt someone shake me from my heavenly bed, which made me turn my head and squint my eyes open. Well I did see my brother Mason.
"What do you want?" I growled and he frowned. "Is that how a brother and a sister communicates nowadays?" He smirked, and I rolled my eyes before burying my face again on the bed.
"It's first day of school, dumb ass." He chuckled and I shot up, reality hitting me like a ton of rocks. I groaned and Mason laughed, and I eyed him up and down. He's full dressed. "What the hell Mason." I said in my stupid morning voice, and he laughed at me before waving goodbye and running outside my room.
I looked at the clock on my bedside table and rushed to the bathroom, doing all that I can do in minutes. I ran down the hallway and down the stairs where I only grabbed a single pop tart from the table which Mason left for me, and shut the front door effortlessly before slipping inside my car.
I drove down to school in minutes, and I parked my car on the far corner. I spotted Mason's car on the parking space with the famous jocks, and him sitting on the hood, chatting with some of them.
I let out a frustrating huff before slinging my bag on my shoulder before proceeding inside.
The halls are always noisy everyday when I go to school, so I just zoned out everyone and proceeded to go to class. The class starts in 20 minutes, and yet I always forgot to bring my books. I did leave them in the locker.
I stood up again from my seat and proceeded to my locker, getting my things and leaning my back onto it. The hallway is full of murmurs and whispers, and I immediately became curious to what rumor is again to spread. They all froze in spot as the entrance door opened, positioned on the sides like royalty will pass by.
As the halls grew silent I heard footsteps, one of high heels and the other the squeaking of sneakers. I tilted my head so I can see the view, and yet that made me freeze cold.
Luke.
Luke Hemmings.
He was comatose when he drove home drunk one night, on the night of our first year anniversary. Well he did wake up after six months. On the first day of Junior year.
I was hurt that time. Her mother kept on telling me not to come to the hospital again, for she blames me. For everything.
But what hurt me most , was that he was linked arm to arm with Amanda Jones. The worst person you will ever meet. She was smiling, grinning fakely like a stupid moron that she is, kissing Luke like he's hers.
Luke looked at everyone confusedly, curious about why everyone decided to gather round the halls. Luke kept on coming closer, closer to me.
As he passed by me. "Luke?" I blurted out shakily, almost like my voice is going to die any time soon.
"Yeah. Do I know you?" He looked at me weirdly, and I gulped down the last of my saliva before Amanda stepped between us, making me stumble back -faced on the locker.
"Is she bothering you?" Amanda said, looking at me like i'm a piece of trash that should be thrown.
Everybody is silent, all eyes looking on us.
"Yeah I know she is. Ignore her baby, let's go." She tugged Luke's arm, and they walked out as the same time as the bell rang. Everyone moved out, blocking them, which made a single tear drip down my face.
I felt a hand stay still on my shoulder which made me flinch and look up to see my brother giving me a sympathetic smile.
"I'm sorry Aspen." He looked at me full of concern that I immediately hated it. I muttered whatever before heading into class, rage and anger full inside my head.
