Chapter Twenty-Six: How Much Farther?
Zayne's POV
During our ride to IHOP I exchanged my number with Aimee, Justin, and Rebecca. While having a short conversation with each other to keep the car from being silent, which I guess made Rebecca feel uncomfortable since she is the one who started it.
"Sooo...", Rebecca began breaking the silent ride " What do you know about E.V.A Justin?" She asked looking at Justin who was focused on where dad was heading making sure not to lose his way and getting us lost. Justin looked in the rear view mirror to take a quick look at Rebecca before averting them back to the road.
"Not much really?" Justin replied while signaling to make a right turn behind my father "All I know is what I heard from my mother."
"Which is?" Rebecca asked trying to keep the conversation going seeming a bit interested on what Justin's mother might of told him. Now this short started conversation caught my attentions, and as I look at Aimee I can see was slightly interesting also because she was also looking at Justin.
"Well I heard that its big enough to be its own city."
"Okay I know there are big schools, but none of them are big enough to have their own city Justin. Now your just exaggerating." I said in a way letting him know that what he was saying couldn't possibly be true, which earned a nod from Aimee and Rebecca.
"No I'm dead ass man. The reason is E.V.A is not just one school."
"What do you mean not one school? How many are there?" Aimee asked joining in on the conversation
"What does the E in E.V.A stand for?" Justin asked
"Elemental?" Rebecca answered "What does that have to do with anything?"
"The root word being Element correct. Well E.V.A is separated into four schools one for each element. Like Colleges do with department of studies."
"Wait a minute, hold up." Aimee said confused running her hand through her hair to and placing it behind her right ear before continuing "How am I going to enroll if E.V.A is separated between the elements. I mean I don't control a elem-."
"It's water." I said cutting her off
"What?" she said looking at me confused
"Your element is water like Justin"
"And how the hell do you know what my element is Zayne?" She asked crossing her arm over her chest.
"My eyes." I told her
"What about your eyes?" Aimee asked
"I can see things with my eyes that normal people can't. Right now I am seeing the color of your element flow through your veins as we speak."
"Are you serious?" Aimee asked dumbfounded not believe what I just said
"Yeah." I said nodding my head " And plus you won't have any trouble learning how to use it. Its like blood manipulation but instead of having blood present all you have to do is focus on making a shape or glob of water in your hand. Give it a try and see." I told her and she just looked at her hands and back at me. She let out a breath and looked back toward her hands. Aimee shook her hands a few times before putting them close together.
I looked at how her element started to flow toward her hands building up faster and faster until finally a small glob of water appeared in her hands before slightly going away.
"I-I did it? Did you see that? I ju-" Aimee stopped talking when she saw Rebecca and I smiling at her which she returned.
"Anyway back to the conversation about E.V.A Justin." I said turning my attention back to Justin "What if you control more then one element? Do you just pick which one you want to learn or what?" I asked Justin.
