Peaking out of the boat house window, while Indigo hurriedly pulled on her t-shirt and smoothed out her skirt.
"Who is it?" She asked, walking up beside him.
"Jason and his band of merry men...shit, you've got to get out of here"
"No. I meant it when I said I'm not leaving tou! Try Dustin on the walkie, I'll see if I can find us a way out. Eddie did as she said grabbing the walkie talkie and instantly trying to call for Dustin, who for the first time, wasn't responding.
"Son of a.... How we looking out there" attaching the walkie talkie to his jeans, Eddie walked up beside her, at the exact same time Jason noticed the light outside the boat house door. Indigo's heart dropped, pulling Eddie back she became flustered, searching for somewhere to hide.
"The boat" Eddie declared, opening the hatch that put the boat onto the lovers lake. "Jump in" she did as he asked with questioning him, letting him push the boat slightly before pulling him in after her. They'd barely started moving when Jason and his friend appeared on the shore. Stripping from their jackets and jumping in
"Shit. Eddie get this thing moving!" Indigo screamed, using her hands to push the water and move the boat. They'd barely gotten half way when Jason popped up next to them. Grabbing Indigo's arm.
"Two freaks together. What a shock. You're going to pay for what you did to Chrissy" he pulled indigo into the water, holding her beneath surface.
"Let go of her!!" Eddie shouted, but it was pointless, Jason was intent on hurting Eddie the way he hurt. "You've got it wrong. I didn't, I didn't kill her, I swear"
"Jason man. Let her go" his friend came up beside him, looking dazed "come o-" his words were cut short as he was pulled beneath the surface. The shock of his friend disappearing made Jason's grip loosen on Indigo, giving her the chance to push herself up above the water, straight into Eddie's waiting hands. Coughing and panting, she pulled herself back into the boat, looking my towards Eddie, but his gaze was on the water. At the spot the boy had disappeared.
"Ed-" Jason's friend suddenly shot up out of the water, his limbs cracking into every direction, had this of been a film Indigo was watching, she'd of screamed, but shock kept her quiet. Eyes wide, watching as the boy, lifeless, fell back into the water. Noticing that Jason was just as rooted in place she shoved Eddie towards the side of the boat, motioning for him to jump. In that moment he'd of done anything she asked, fear once again taking over his body.
They swam as though their life depended on it, not looking back, not looking at each other. By the time Indigo made it to the other side her chest burned.
"Where too Eddie?" When no reply came she finally looked round, noticing Eddie was no where in sight. "EDDIE"
"Run Indigo, go to our place" his voice came out jaggered but she couldn't pin point where it was coming from, with one last look around she ran, she didn't need to think twice about where their place was.
The woods at night seemed like a whole new world to her as she ran through them, barely managing to keep herself upright, she was sure it was taking far longer to get to Skull Rock than it should have been but eventually, when she felt she couldn't run anymore, the rock came into view. She let out relieved sob, collapsing next to the rock.
Every limb on her body felt like jelly, her chest burned as she tried to breathe in and out and her heart was breaking at the thought of Eddie being alone. She curled herself up into a ball, pushing herself as far as she could under the rock so she was out of sight. She didn't mean to close her eyes, but the exhaustion took over her body, or maybe she just passed out, she wasn't sure, but as her eyes fluttered closed she kept her thoughts on Eddie and her friends, hoping and praying they'd all be reunited soon.
