1st Freetime Event:

Kaede's POV: Y/N always looked so nervous all the time, so maybe all she needs is someone to talk to! I'm sure Y/N has good qualities to talk about with her. I saw Y/N mumbling to herself in the library so with a hop in my step I walked up to her and tapped her shoulder gently...only to be met with a slap in the hand. "Ow!" I yelped in surprise. "A-Ah! Kaede! I'm really sorry! I didn't...m-mean to do that. Hitting a girl...how awful of me." She mumbled. "Ah...but you're a girl too." I told her. "Th-That's not- Um! Sorry...you're right." She stammered out.

"Ah, but I guess you hitting my hand is fine, It's my fault for startling you like that." I sweat dropped. Y/N and I stood at the center of the library for a couple of seconds before I broke the silence. "So...is there anything you'd like to talk about?" I asked her. "U-Uhm...sorry- why are you talking to me again?" Y/N asked me. "So...would you prefer it if you were to be alone instead?" I asked. "I-It's...not that I want to be alone, I'm just surprised anyone would...e-ever want to talk to me is all." She admitted. "Well, I don't see why you'd think that. You seem like a good person to me!" I exclaimed. "Hmm." She hummed. "Is there something wrong?" I asked Y/N. "N-Nothing, if you have a question to ask me...then I will do my best to answer, you c-can consider it as my apology for hitting your hand." They said. "Then...why are you closing yourself off to the rest of us? I think we could all use your knowledge to help us all escape." I said. "Y-You think-? Um...right, okay." Y/N's face became a light shade of pink as she tried to pick out her words carefully. "I...don't d-do it intentionally, but...if you want my honest opinion, then...it would be that I don't really like anyone here, and I think y-you all could get more serious instead of trusting everyone here." She admitted. "What!? Why?" I asked her. "...Because, t-trusting people...will only lead to suffering in the long run, no? How do I know that you guys won't leave me for dead if the opportunity was given? How do you know that I won't just kill everyone here and then leave for the outside world without looking back? Or do you want to reconsider trusting everyone?" Y/N asked me, looking into my eyes carefully. "Well, to that I say...screw it! I wanna believe in everyone here so that's what I'm gonna do!" I exclaimed cheerfully. "A-Are...you kidding? Your carefree nature is going to get you killed." She told me, looking genuinely shocked that I had responded in such a way.

"I don't think so, because everyone and I promised each other to escape this place together and become friends." I responded. Y/N stared at me for a little while before darting her eyes to the corner of the library. "You...aren't going to change your mind?" She questioned. "Nope!" I said. "Your way of thinking...is something that I can't quite wrap my head around." Y/N admitted, looking off to the side. "Then...can I ask you another question?" I asked. "I-I guess." She said. "What made you choose 'Ultimate Librarian' as your Ultimate? Like, no offense but I can't imagine spending my days reading books and dusting." I told her. "I-Is...that all you think of my Ultimate?" She questioned, looking a little hurt. "A-Ah! That's not what I meant! Cuz...if you read books all day then that probably means you're really smart, right?" I sweat dropped. Y/N looked at me for a few seconds before she began to walk to the exit. "...M-My apologies, Kaede...I have to leave." She muttered to me before rushing out of the library, her footsteps getting quieter and quieter.

"Well...that was certainly eventful." I mumbled.

2nd Freetime event:

Opening one of the classroom doors, I saw Y/N sitting alone at one of the desks. "Hey...Y/N?" I called out before closing the door to the classroom. "O-Oh...hello Kaede." She mumbled before looking at me. "So...I know that last time's discussion didn't go as well as I would've liked it to go...so I'm here to make up for it!" I said. "Don't you...wanna go talk to Shuichi or something? You two seem quite close already." She responded. "What are you trying to hint at?" I puffed out before walking closer to her and sitting on the desk in front of her view. "N-Nothing. Is there something you'd like?" She asked me. "Umm, well I've been thinking about it and maybe we should talk about your family instead." I responded. "My...family?" Y/N muttered. "Yeah, like how do your parents act or if you have any siblings. That kinda thing." I explained. "W-Well...I never knew who my mother was, and my father was rather emotionally closed off for my entire life...and I only have one sibling." She told me. "O-Oh...that, I'm sorry." I muttered. "Sorry?" She mumbled. "Yeah, I'm sorry that you had a rough family situation." I clarified. "Why would you have to be sorry about that? It's not your fault. But...if this is how people are supposed to interact then I guess I'll go with it. I'll just tell you about my sister." Y/N and I talked about our families for a little while, and despite the rough start we had, the conversation felt really nice. "My sister is the kindest person you could ever meet, not only is she a beauty on the outside she's a true beauty on the inside. Talking to her, you can slowly feel all your troubles get pushed to the back of your head." Y/N went on and on about how incredible his sister was, so much so that it practically sounded like he was obsessed with her.

"Y/N...could I ask more about you though? Like, what makes you a person? What do you like to do?" I asked. Y/N looked surprised at my questions and looked very puzzled about how to respond. "I...don't really know, I haven't done anything that I would consider a 'hobby' before." Y/N told me. "Really? Nothing at all?" I questioned. "I could tell you what my sister likes doing though, everyone seems to like hearing about her more than me anyway." Y/N said. "Y/N...were you...ever given any kind of special attention as a child?" I sweat dropped. "U-Uh...nothing that really comes to mind." They admitted. "Well...sorry if this is coming off as too forward but...it kinda sounds like you're jealous of your sister." I broke to Y/N. "Wh-Wha!? B-But...jealousy is bad, isn't it? Why would I be jealous of someone like my sister?" Y/N stammered out, sitting up from the desk she was sitting on. "Well...from what I'm understanding, no one really ever wanted to be your friend because of your sister, no one really ever paid attention to you...it would only make sense for you to be jealous of her." I explained. "B-But...! I love my sister, there's no way I could be jealous of someone that I love." She argued. "You do know that you can be jealous of people that you love too, right?" I sweat dropped. Y/N looked at me looking astonished for a few seconds, before...slumping over on the desk. "You're...not the first person to bring this up, I guess...it adds to my boring personality, I don't even remember much of how I acted before the killing game." She muttered sadly. "Alrighty then! I've made up my mind!" I exclaimed. "Wh-Wha...?" "I'm going to help you discover who you want to be! As your friend." I told her. "W-Wait-! This is very sudden, I don't think-" "Y/N, you may try to act tough around others, but I think that all you need is a friend, someone to vent and rant to, y'know?" I said. "K-Kaede..." Y/N muttered, despite how nervous Y/N looked at the idea...she didn't seem to hate it. "It's done then! Once I'm done with you you'll definitely be able to have the personality that you've always wanted." I told her. "Y-You...promise?" She muttered. "Mhm! I promise!" I said happily. "K-Kaede you...really are weird, but I guess I am too, then." Y/N said, crossing her arms and looking the other way. "That's the spirit." I said, nudging Y/N's arm playfully, making her laugh, I think this will be the start of something good, becoming friends with, Y/N sounds a little intimidating to be quite honest...but I think I'm willing to take up the challenge.
