1. Y/N POV: Tsumugi sighed as I walked up to her, was she already annoyed by me? "Is there something wrong, Tsumugi?" I asked her. "Look at this. My nails are all messed up... It probably happened when we came here. And now I can't take good care of them." Tsumugi responded. "Oh...your nails?" I muttered. "I understand... You're surprised that plain old me cares about my nails, right?" Tsumugi questioned. "Not...really. It's j-just...when you say nails, I assume you mean nail art, right? I...don't really bother myself with things such as painting your nails." I told her. "Oh, I see. Being in a library all day, I guess you would plainly not have time to do your nails, huh?" Tsumugi said. "Th-There's much more to being a librarian than staying in a library all day." I huffed in irritation. "B-But...if you're concerned about your nails then you can have this nailbrush if you want." I told her. "Huh? Are you sure? But, I can't just take it for free." Tsumugi said. "D-Don't worry about it...it's not like I'm going to use it." I pointed out. "No, no. For things like this, we need an equivalent exchange." Tsumugi said firmly. "E-Equivalent...exhange?" I muttered. "Oh, I got it! How about I do your nails later?" Tsumugi said. "Er...I-I don't think that's gonna be a good idea-" "Then let's do it this afternoon... Oh! We can use the Game Room." Tsumugi said, cutting me off. "A-Ah..." I mumbled, not having the heart to say no. "Okay, see you later." Tsumugi cheered happily before leaving. I sighed tiredly as I just decided to seek out Kiyo before leaving for the Game Room this afternoon.
Once afternoon rolled around I made sure to tell Kiyo exactly where I was going to be in case anything happened to me. Though...I don't really trust him enough to do anything with that information. I opened the doors to the Game Room, my guard up. "H-Hello Tsumugi." I greeted the girl. "Huh? Huuuh? Why do you look so nervous?" Tsumugi asked me. "T-To be honest...I was sort of preparing to be attacked right about now." I admitted to her. "Y-Y/N, I'm not that kinda person, you just gotta relax. But...to be honest I'm not that good at doing nails so don't get your hopes up too much, okay?" Tsumugi told me as if I had my high hopes to begin with. I only hummed in response, however, I hesitated a little when Tsumugi told me to extend my hand however after a few seconds, I watched as Tsumugi began to paint my nails. "Okay...how's that?" Tsumugi asked me, I took my hand away from Tsumugi to observe it. "It's...nice. Thank you." I told Tsumugi calmly. "I just painted a pink gradient on them." Tsumugi informed me. "I've had my fingernails painted before by my sister when I was younger...but I think you've done well. B-But...it's just a little too cute for me." I muttered. "With a gradient like this, you can make even plain nails- No, they're short, but they're shaped nicely. This shouldn't get in the way of your librarian work." Tsumugi told me. "..." I continued to look at my nails, how long had it even been since I had them painted? "Umm...come to think of it... Even if you are a librarian, you could just put on fake nails whenever you're not working." Tsumugi pointed out to me. I opened my mouth to respond however I jumped in surprise when I heard the Game Room door open up, revealing Rantaro. "Hey...what are you two up to?" Rantaro asked us. "Tsumugi i-invited me to paint my nails, so I said yes...would you like to have a look?" I asked him. "Whaaa!? Don't show them off like they're something flashy!" Tsumugi sweat dropped. "But...I think they've grown on me quite well, this is a...nice experience." I hummed. "They're not...that amazing. Something like this is just plain basic." Tsumugi told me. "Ooh, painting your nails, huh? You know, I can do that too." Rantaro told me. "Really?" I muttered. "Hmhmhm... Could it be that you've done it for a girlfriend? Or girlfriends? You normie, you!" Tsumugi muttered. "Haha, no, no girlfriend or anything. What gave you that impression?" Rantaro asked her. "Yeah, I guess you wouldn't have one. You seem like you're one of those types." Tsumugi said. "...O-One of those types?" I mumbled. "A gradient is nice... But with short nails like yours, Y/N. I recommend a French slant." Rantaro told me. "You think so? I-I'm...not really looking for anything flashy like that." I muttered. "Oh, so you know what that is?" Rantaro asked me, looking surprised. "Uhm...I'm quite knowledgable." I responded. "Then... May I?" Rantaro said. "I-I guess...it couldn't hurt." I mumbled. "Alright then." Rantaro said. Rantaro then took my hand and quickly got to work painting my nails. "A-Ah!" I mumbled in surprise at Rantaro holding my hand. "Whoa, easy there... You gotta stay still, alright?" Rantaro told me. "M-Mhm." I hummed. I felt my heartbeat rise as a sort of tickling sensation began on my fingers. "Hehe. R-Rantaro...my apologies, that k-kinda tickles." I muttered. "It's okay. I'm almost done..." Rantaro reassured me. "Kehehe." I chuckled, unable to hold back a grin. "Done!" Rantaro said. "This is...new." I mumbled. "Now, I don't have any with me right now, but some rhinestones would look perfect..." Rantaro told me. "I-I...don't think something so flashy belongs on someone like me. B-But...I'll try to appreciate it." I said. "...I used to do this all the time." Rantaro responded. "C-Can I ask for who?" I asked him. "Just for family. But anyway... Tsumugi's staring daggers at us. Did I do something...?" Rantaro questioned. "Hm, hmhm, what a showoff... Damn normies! Go backflip onto a land mine and explode!" Tsumugi exclaimed. After having a more-than-decent time thanks to Tsumugi, I walked back to my dorm.
