Gonta Gokuhara
Y/N POV: Every time I come here, I play the role of their 'ideal.' Like some shared fantasy. What kind of fantasy will Gonta have? Something heartwarming, perhaps? "Thank you for coming to see Gonta. Gonta will do best to be Y/N's companion." Gonta told me. "Ah, okay." I hummed. "Hungry? Need Gonta to carry your luggage? Gonta is plenty strong." Gonta said. "Ah, no, I didn't bring anything like that with me... What exactly is going on?" I asked. "What you mean? Is normal for gentleman to be gentle with women." Gonta responded. "Oh...a women." I muttered, then I suppose I have to play the part of a women. No big deal, I'm just supposed to be a good partner. "...Oh, you don't like it? You right... Gonta shouldn't force Y/N into lady role, just for practice party..." Gonta muttered. "Eh? Am I not supposed to be lady...?" I questioned. "Huh? You're not a women, are you? Wait, is Y/N really women!? S-Sorry! Gonta should've noticed sooner!" Gonta yelled. "H-Hold on, I'm a man!" I clarified for Gonta. "Oh, okay. Good... Gonta wouldn't know what to do if Gonta upset Y/N on accident." Gonta admitted. "Ah, it's fine... Harmless mistake. You want to practice for the part, correct? Then I will do my best to help." I told him. "Y/N is so nice. Gonta wishes he could return favor somehow... Oh yeah! Practice on Gonta!" Gonta said. "...And by practice, do you mean..." I muttered. "Gonta's never behaved like lady before. But Gonta will do his best if you'll let him." Gonta said. "A-Ah, I'm not really...interested in that kinda thing." I told him. "B-But what Gonta supposed to do!? Y/N being so nice to Gonta!" Gonta yelled, getting quite agitated. "A-Ah! It's really okay! Just...calm down." I instructed him. "Hey, what should Gonta do!?" Gonta yelled, grabbing my shoulders suddenly...too suddenly, I felt my knees buckle and my balance quit on me. "Whoa!" I cried out. We then fell on the bed behind us, limbs entangled. "A-A-Ahh." I stammered out. I had fallen on my back and Gonta was right above me, breathing hard. I felt my face heat up. Gonta's massive body was on top of mine, whilst it wasn't very intimidating...I couldn't help but lose my wording. "A-Aghhhhhh!" Gonta yelled, a shocked look on his face. "E-Eh?" I muttered. Gonta's body then jerked upward as if pulled by some unseen force, jumping back a few feet. "Gonta? Are you okay?" I asked him, sitting upward. "Gonta's not okay! Not okay at all! How could Gonta...do this!?" Gonta yelled. "Don't worry about it, it was just...surprising is all." I told him. "Gonta does worry! Is unforgivable for gentleman to mistreat lady!" Gonta yelled. So...I guess I'm still playing the lady, huh? "No, even if Y/N not lady... Is still bad. Gonta must've scared Y/N... Still long way to go before Gonta can be gentleman." Gonta said. Gonta... Gonta noticed that I was scared? "You might not believe Gonta, but... Gonta not ever wanna hurt you." Gonta muttered. "Yeah, I know." I responded. I stood up and walked up to him. I could see that his shoulders were trembling. "Hey, I'm perfectly fine, okay? How about we just keep practicing for the party?" I told him. "Y-Y/N... Thank you! Gonta be perfect companion this time. Gonta...take care of you." Gonta said, looking much calmer now. "Thank you, Gonta." I hummed. Inspired by Gonta's impeccable manners, I reciprocated and offered my hand to him. He may not look the part, but I'm convinced that Gonta is truly polite and kind. A gentleman. "Ummm... What would gentleman say? Gonta keep you up all night!" Gonta said. "Er...sure, we can work on it." I sweat dropped.
Kaito Momota
Every time I come here, I play the role of their 'ideal.' Like some shared fantasy. What kind of fantasy will Kaito have? I'm...rather nervous, but curious. "Heh, I'm surprised you didn't run off with your tail between your legs!" Kaito exclaimed. "Eh?" I muttered. "We've got 99 wins now...so this'll decide the true winner. Now, let's end this!" Kaito yelled. "Wait, what?" I muttered. What kind of weird fantasy is this? "Um, we...each have 99 wins? Was I in some kind of competition...?" I questioned. "What, are you looking back on things before the final battle or something? The first time we met... It was in the sky..." Kaito told me. "The sky...?" I muttered. "I'm Kaito Momota! Luminary of the Stars! I decided that before I enter the vast universe, I'd conquer the blue sky... And there you were!" He yelled. "I was there? Just what in the world am I supposed to be!?" I questioned. "We didn't even know each other's names during our first airplane race!" Kaito said. Oh, so we're pilots or something like that... Kaito's fantasies are just about as eccentric as he is. "It was the beginning of the heated battle over who was the fastest and coolest! But, I never dreamed our battle would last this long." Kaito admitted. "Ah, so basically, we've both won the air race 99 times, and the next race is winner-takes-all?" I theorized. "Pretty much. There's no extra innings, you got it? Yeah... This is it..." Kaito muttered. "Is...something wrong?" I asked him. "It's just...honestly, I feel like it's a waste to put an end to our fight. I wish these days could last forever, y'know?" Kaito said. "Kaito..." I hummed. What if he just kept racing forever? Some may be good, and some may be bad...but somehow I know that...we should always enjoy them. Together. "I...feel the same way, Kaito. I love flying with you." I told him. "It's like, even though we're rivals, our hearts are one. I like that. But...one way or another, this has gotta come to an end. This sky we flew through together wasn't so bad...but my true destiny's the universe!" Kaito exclaimed proudly. "Yeah, you're right, Kaito." I said. "What's up with you? Where's your fire, man? This is gonna be our final race. Come at me with everything you got!" Kaito yelled. "Of course! It's just...uh." I mumbled. I don't know if I can pretend to be excited, it's not like we can actually fly. "No, you don't get it!" Kaito yelled. "Eh...?" I muttered, almost in a heartbeat, I found myself backed up against the wall, his presence being the only thing I could feel. "Are you really gonna go into our final race like that!?" Kaito shouted and slammed his palm against the wall near my head, staring into my eyes. "What's the matter? Where's that determined glare of yours?" Kaito asked me. "A-Ah! Kaito..." I could barely think, let alone meet his gaze. He felt so close to me...looking at me. That's when I remembered where I was, and... "K-Kaito! Ah, perhaps you should...back up a little?" I told him. I got so caught up in his fantasy that I had forgotten where I was for a moment. But with Kaito so close to me in a place like this... Everything just felt so much more intense. "No, I'm not gonna back up!" Kaito yelled at me. "...E-Eh?" I sweat dropped. "You really think I'm gonna do what you say?" Rather than backing up like I had told him, he only brought his face closer to mine, his face now being inches away from mine. "K-Kaito..." I muttered, not knowing what to say. "Geez, you're the first... Nobody else has ever made me want to stay in one place for so long. I wanna get to the universe as fast as I can, but...I don't want this to end. Hey...you understand what that means?" Kaito asked me. I know that for as long as I'm here, I'm Kaito's ideal. And so, I... I understand Kaito... I hold the key to your heart, but... "Well, I guess you wouldn't understand. There's no way you feel the same. Anyway, it's not like me to start babbling like this!" Kaito then took a quick step back. I exhaled, that really wasn't gonna go how I thought it was about to. "Listen up, Y/N L/N! If I win, there's something I gotta tell you!" Kaito yelled. "Something...you gotta tell me?" I muttered. Wait, wouldn't...that mean...? "Now that it's been decided, I wanna hurry up and say it already! Let's go!" Kaito then marched to the exit, with me hurrying to catch up to him. If he wants to tell me something after the race, then...it shouldn't be something I can ask him. He has to tell me himself. "Alright, I'm gonna win! So I can finally say it to you!" Kaito exclaimed. "Alright." I responded. "Just 'alright'!? You gotta say 'I won't lose!' or 'Screw you!'" Kaito sweat dropped. "Oh, I won't lose to you. I was just simply curious as to what you have to say, Kaito." I told him. "Didn't I say I was gonna win!? So just hit me with some trash talk, already!" Kaito yelled. "Ah...what an idiot..." I muttered. And so, we two aviators headed to one last race...together.
