Shiva was sitting at the hospital bench, not far away from Sahana, his face buried in his hands. He was no longer crying because his tears had completely dried out, plus he had to be strong for Aishu. Aishu was a small child, Shiva didn't want her to be traumatised. A nurse came towards Shiva and said, "Sahana engira patient ku neenga yaar vennum sir?". Shiva stood up and said "En pondatti than, solunga sister avangaluku enna achu?" The only thing that mattered to Shiva right now is Sahana's condition.
"Sir neenga intha consent letter la sign podanum, avangala naange operation theatre ku kuttitu poganum, oru emergency surgery kaga." Shiva was worried but he's going to put his trust in God, therefore he signed the papers. He knows that Sahana is a strong woman, so she will recover fast and come back stronger.
They brought Sahana to the operation theatre, Shiva followed behind them, carrying Aishu with him. He was stopped at the entrance by the nurse, "Sir operation theatre kulle neenga allowed illai sir." Shiva nodded slightly as a sign of agreement. As the door of the operation theatre closed, Shiva saw memories of him and Sahana flashing right in front of his eyes. Shiva called his in-laws to inform them about the unfortunate incident, he wanted them to come and bring Aishu back. Shiva didn't want Aishu to stay too long in the hospital, she was already scared and she was also worried about her mother.
"Hello Mama...naan solrathu konjum porumai ah kelunge, pathatam padatinge." Shiva took a deep breath.
"Sollunga mappilai, enna achu?" Somasundaram sounded worried.
Shiva sighed and said "Sahana hospital la iruka mama, avaluku..." Shiva couldn't get the right word out of his mouth.
"Sollunga mappilai, Sahana ku enna achu?" Both Sahana's parents were anxious.
"Sahana ku...oru chinna accident Mama. Neenga neerla vaanga, naan ellathaiyum theliva solren."
After 30 minutes, Sahana's parents reached the hospital. They were shocked to see Shiva's shirt covered with blood stains and that made them even more worried.
"Mappilai Sahana engga? Unga sattai la yen ivelo ratham karai iruku? Sahana ku enna achu?" Somasundarama was shaking the shoulder of a weak Shiva.
"Ennai manichudunge mama, Sahana va yaaro kaththii yaale kuthithange." Shiva broke down in front of his in-laws. Sahana's parents were equally as worried but they tried to calm Shiva down. They realised how much care Shiva had towards his wife.
"Mama neenga Aishu va kutitu veetu ku ponga, pavom ava rombe bayantutha." Somasundaram took Aishu from Shiva's hand.
"Ungalaya intha nilamai la eppedi thaniya vittu poruthu mappilai?" Devagi said.
"Paruvala attai, naan pathukuren, neenga kilambunge naan aprom call pandren."
Shiva kissed Aishu and said "Aishu ma, Amma ku onnume ille. Neenga veetu ku poi saptu thoongunga seriya? Nalliki naan tata va kotitu vara solren." Aishu was already tired so she only nodded as Shiva's statement. Sahana's parents nodded and left the hospital together with Aishu. They called Elango to inform him about it.

Shiva was walking restlessly at the entrance of the operation theatre, he couldn't sit in one place. He was very anxious, he didn't know what was going on inside the operation theatre. It has been more than 3 hours since they brought Sahana to the operation theatre and Shiva has not heard any update from the doctor or nurses. A nurse came out from the door, Shiva stopped her and asked "Sister, en pondati ku enna achu? Avanga eppadi irukanga?" The nurse was annoyed with Shiva, because Shiva has been asking the same question again and again. "Sir naan 10 nimisham thuku munnadi sonnathu than ippo um soldren, avangaluku surgery pannitu irukange. Neenga intha kelvi ah kuranjuthu oru 20 thadava ketrupinga sir. Unga kavalai enneke puriyethe, aana ippo thiki engalale onnume solle mudiyathe." Shiva feels guilty, he knows that it is because of him that Sahana is in this state. It's Shiva who's supposed to be in there not Sahana, Shiva was beating himself inside.
