The next morning, Sahana's parents came over to visit them, they were very much disappointed at Elango's action and they were also very much sad thinking about their children's situation at the moment. Sahana's mother was sitting in the room with Sahana trying to comfort her while her father was playing with Aishu in the house compound.
"Sahana, Elango ippadi lam panuvan nu naan konjam kuda nanichi pakala da."
Sahana was not in the mental state to talk about her brother at the moment, so in the effort of trying to change the topic Sahana said, "Amma vera ethavathu pathi pesalama, Elango pechi ipothiki vendam."
Devaki understood why Sahana was avoiding the topic, but as a mother she was worried about her daughter's life. Therefore she wanted to discuss with Sahana about another important topic, Sahana's relationship with Shiva. Devaki was thinking for how long is Sahana going to lead a fake life, acting like she doesn't care or love Shiva.
"Seri ma Sahana, naan Elango pathi pesala. Ana evlo nalaiku than ne ipdiay vazha pora?" Devaki didn't have to explain further for Sahana to understand what her mother was talking about. Sahana is aware of her mother's concern. "Amma nenga yen ipadi kaykuringa nu ennaku puriyuthu. Naan aniki sonnatha tha innikum soldren, ennaku Shiva kuda sernthu vazha ishtam illa." Sahana said it, trying to convince herself, at the same time avoiding Devaki's eyes.
Devaki smiled at the corner of her mother, of course a mother could sense it when her daughter is lying. "Ishtam illa nu mattum solatha Sahana. Evlo naalu ku ne unnai ay yematha pora nu naan pakuren. Naan un amma Sahana, en ponnu manasu kulla enna iruku nu ennaku theriyum."
Sahana was not very much shocked at Devaki's statement, because recently she realised she was unable to hide her love and emotions for Shiva no matter how much she tried. She was just afraid to admit it outloud, she was afraid of another potential heartbreak and loss of trust. "Apdilam onnum illa amma, nengalavay etho karpanai pannathinga."
Devaki held Sahana's hand and said, "Amma onnu mattum soldren kaylu. Kovam irukura manasula anbu ku idam irukathu. Athunala un manasula irukaru kovam ellathaiyum mappilai kitta pesi thithiru, seriya? Nanum appa vum Kumbakonam ku kilamburom."
Her mother's words went straight into her heart because it definitely suited her current situation with Shiva. She didn't hate Shiva, she was just mad at Shiva, there is a huge difference between these two emotions. Sahana's parents bid their goodbyes to everyone and left. Shiva insisted on them staying till Deepavali but they refused his offer and said they will come and visit them again for Deepavali.

Two days after Sahana's parents' visit, Shiva was thinking it was time for them to start their Deepavali purchase. Shiva was standing alone at the balcony, thinking about one of the most important things in his life at the moment, how to win his wife's heart back. As Shiva was deep in his thoughts, Paratai brought him back to reality.
"Ne enna Shiva inga pandra, Aishu unakaga veedu pura thedi kittu iruka, ne enna da na inga thaniya ennamo ukanthu yosichikittu iruka. Enna achu da mappilai."
Shiva just smiled lightly and said, "Naan vera yaaru pathi da yosika poren, ella un thangachi ah nenichi tha."
Paratai nodded lightly and said, "Sahana munna mathri la illa da, ava kudiya sikkiram ah unnaya ethukuva, ne kavalai padatha Shiva." Even Paratai realised that Sahana was slowly having a change of heart. Paratai is Shiva's lifelong best friend and he wishes nothing but happiness for both Shiva and Sahana.
"Deepavali ku innum moonu naalu tha iruku Paratai, athu kulla ppadi avathu ava manasu maari, ennai ay ethakanum. Apdi athu nadakkati..." Shiva was hesitant to continue his sentences, but at the same time Paratai was curious on what Shiva has to say, "Sollu Shiva, apdi nadakkati?"
