𝐖𝐄 𝐇𝐔𝐃𝐃𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐘 back by the RV to go over a plan for what was appearing to be our potentially imminent demise. Somber and concentrated expressions from everyone as we listened intently.

I was sat cross legged in the grass, Eddie to the left of me whose hand was placed reassuringly on my knee. Although I couldn't say that the sentiment didn't stop the novelty of fear setting in my stomach.

'Okay, so I think it goes without saying that the extent of this plan is going to be far more difficult than anything we've done before.' Steve began, looking on at everybody.

'Or for those of you who are new here, maybe the hardest thing you've done yet.' He continued, gesturing to myself, Sarah and Eddie.

'There's lots of factors to take into consideration. And lots of risks, but there doesn't have to be.' Nancy said.
'Max is going to be the key part to play in all of this. We don't move forward without her, but we don't want you to do more than what you're comfortable with.' She continued, glancing over at Max who was looking down into her lap, sombrely.

'Well, I mean there's not exactly many parts of this that make me feel comfortable. But it has to be done.' Max shrugged.

'And you're positive?' Steve asked.

'Positive.' Max nodded.

'Okay. So Max, you'll be based at the house. You'll bait Vecna, putting him into his trance or whatever by letting your guard down. No music, just leaving your mind wide open for his creepy ass to get inside of.' Steve explained.

'You guys can use these.' Nancy started, uncrossing her legs to stand before heading into the RV. She soon returned holding what appeared to be a UV bug attracting lantern.
'To track his movements around the house. That way you'll know where he is on our side at all times.' She said.

'Lucas and Erica, you can stay at the house with Max. Until you have Vecna on lock, no unnecessary noises. No shoes when you're walking around, no talking, nothing. The last thing we need is for him to catch wind that you're there before the rest of us are ready.' Steve sighed.

'Got it.' Lucas responded, determinedly.

'Erica, your job is gonna be the messenger. There's a playground across the street from the house. We can meet you there in the Upside Down. Once you're there, use your flashlight to signal them. Once and only once they've copied, Max can initiate the plan of distracting Vecna.' Nancy sanctioned.

'Then we move onto the hard part. Getting inside the house undetected.' Robin interjected, looking toward Nancy.

'I did some digging around and amongst all of the, y'know, murderous weapons they had a book about wildlife in the hunting section.' Nancy started, pulling a small handbook out from behind her and idly flicking through the pages.
'There's a whole portion about bats. And as it turns out, bats don't take too kindly to loud noises. Specifically wind chimes apparently, but more importantly - ultrasonic noises.' Nancy said, as she glanced toward Eddie.

'Cool.' Eddie nodded, soon realising that it was aimed particularly at him.
'I don't know what that means.' He deadpanned.

'It means, you've got some pretty decked out amps in your bedroom, right?' Steve inquired.

'Right?' Eddie replied, inquisitively waiting for Steve to elaborate.

Steve raised his eyebrows at Eddie, patiently awaiting for the information to set in.
