"𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬"

"Stay back," Eddie looked back to Melian. She furrowed her eyebrows at him in response, "Sorry. Stay back, please."

Melian nodded, squatting down beside the trees that surrounded them. "Much better."

Eddie gave her a smile before sneaking off onto a nearby construction site. He swooped in, grabbing a walkie-talkie and disappearing within seconds. The long-haired man jogged back into the forest before placing his hands on his knees, dropping the walkie next to Melian.

"Nice work, Eddie." Melian grabbed it, standing to pat him on the shoulder.

Eddie heaved as he stuck his thumb up, still catching his breath after the run. "I really need to get in better shape."

"I'll sign us up for a jazzercise class when this is all over."

"If we get out of this..." Eddie muttered.

Melian shook her head at him, "When, Eddie Munson. When."

"Okay, I believe you. When." Eddie gave her a half-hearted smile.

Melian proceeded to speak into the walkie, "Guys, can you hear us? Is anyone there?"

"Jesus, Mel! Are you two okay?" Dustin's voice came through the speaker.

Melian looked back at Eddie, who was sighing in relief, then back at the object in her hand. "Well, we've been better... look, we need you guys to come get us."

"Where are you?"

Melian held the walkie-talkie up to Eddie's mouth, "Skull Rock, you know where that is?"

"That's near Cornwallis and Garrett," the two heard Dustin and Steve through the machine. "Hold tight, we're coming."

A little bit passed as Eddie and Melian talked about anything and everything they could to fill the time. How Eddie would teach Melian guitar, how Melian would teach him how to make the perfect sourdough, regular shit.

"And the trick is to make the starter yourself, not buy that artificial shit from the store." Mel tilted her head to the side, looking to Eddie who was now sitting next to her.

"What's the difference again?" Eddie held his chin up in his palm.

Melian furrowed her brows, "I've already told you twice!"

"I know," Eddie grinned, "I just like hearing you talk about what you enjoy." Mel felt her cheeks flush at the comment, "And I like how your cheeks turn pink around me."

"Oh my god, shut up." Melian rolled her eyes, leaning over to knock him to the side.

"Oh, ho, ho! You do not want to pick a fight with Eddie the Banished!" Eddie stood, looking down at Melian.

Melian smiled at him, standing as well. "But what if I do? Melian the Great will protect her honor in any way possible!"

Eddie's mouth dropped open, "Are you really humoring me?"

"Close your mouth back up before I change my mind." She smirked at him as he shut his mouth. "Now, we must settle this with a brawl! What say you, Eddie the Banished?"

"It seems to be the only way, Melian the Great." Eddie pushed his hair out of his face, "On three?" Melian nodded as the two stood across from each other, "One, two..."

"Three!" Melian shouted out, running toward Eddie and tackling him. Eddie yelled out dramatically as he fell into the leaves. Melian sat on top of him, punching his sides softly.
