"𝐈 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐤, 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠?"

Melian swiftly walked through the crowded halls as she attempted to make her way toward the broadcast room. Crowds. Something Mel hated but never told anyone. She was constantly surrounded by crowds whether it was a football or basketball game, the mall (well, formerly), or a random party she would get dragged to.

"Mel, hey!" A familiar raspy voice came from behind her. Robin Buckley, Mel's best friend fell into step next to her, trying to keep up. "Woah, slow down!"

"Can't, Robin." Mel glanced over to her friend, "You know I have to get to broadcast and Cindy is feeling sick— so I have to read the entire Hawkins' news for the past week."

Robin grimaced at the thought, "God, I have no idea why you put yourself through that shit."

"You know I have big dreams, next year you'll see my face on GMA." Mel waved her hand in the air, as if she was painting the picture now.

"And it'll be the prettiest face America will every see." Robin smiled, "See you later, Mel, good luck!"

Mel pushed open the door to the broadcasting room, turning around to look at her friend. "Bye Robin." The girl walked into the room, dropping her bag down next to the news desk.

"Hey, Trav." Mel greeted the cameraman and fellow broadcast member. She clicked on lights and the old tv which doubled as the teleprompter, before grabbing the script off of the gigantic printer.

"Hi, Mel. No time to run through the lines, you're gonna have to do it on the fly." He said, plugging in the microphone. "Sorry that it's just us, Cindy didn't let us know she was sick until just now, and Brian is out of town for spring break already."

"All good, we've done this before anyways!" Mel sat down on the seat behind the desk as Travis began to silently count down behind the television.

"Goood morning Hawkins High!" Mel shined her brightest smile, "Excitement builds as we are nearing spring break, but don't forget about finals when we come back. The best way to prepare is to get a good nights sleep and study over the break, but make sure to have a little fun too."

Travis gave her a thumbs up as she continued, keeping the same smile on her face. "Tonight is the championship game right here in the Hawkins' High gymnasium, make sure to get your tickets before the game! Also, there is a Hellfire meeting..tonight?"

Melian eyed Travis as he shrugged as if to say "I didn't put that in there." The rest of the news was gone and all that was left was the Hellfire announcement. Nevertheless, she persevered, trying not to show the confusion on her face as best she could. "If you would like to join Hellfire and partake in the campaign of the century, contact DND champion... Eddie Munson. Okay.. well that's all for now Hawkins, have a great day and good luck tonight tigers!"

Travis clicked off the camera as Mel let out a sigh. "Who put that in-"

"Munson." Mel fumed, she stood before heading over to the computer. "I swear to god when I see him, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind. I've told him multiple times not to sneak into this room, and what does this shithead do?"

"Sneak into the room?"

"Sneak into the goddamn room!" Mel groaned as she started to type up the script for after break. "What a-"

—————

"-woman. Don't you think she would make a perfect queen in my campaign?" Eddie looked around the lunch table.

"I don't know dude, doesn't she seem kinda superficial?" Donny asked.

"What? You don't look at her and immediately think 'she would be into this demonic-ass game'?" Eddie asked.

Mike shrugged, "I don't know dude, I heard she hated you."

"Heard? Oh, she does." Eddie smirked, "That's what would make her perfect."

—————

"EDDIE!" Mel yelled as she walked toward the long-haired man, it was just her and him in the halls since she knew exactly when he went to the "bathroom" every day during English. Don't ask why.

Eddie whipped his head around before getting on a knee, "My lady, Melian. What do I owe the pleasure of being in your radiant presence?"

Mel's shoes clacked as she got closer and closer to the kneeling man. When she reached him, she grabbed his hair and pulled him up from his position.

"Ow, ow, ow, OW!" Eddie exclaimed quickly, slightly folding under her grip. "Not the hair!"

Mel gripped Eddie's chin with her fingers, pulling him inches from her face. "Mess with my script again and there won't be any hair left for me to drag you with."

Eddie stared into her eyes, which were looking extra golden to him, and slowly smiled. "Yes. Ma'am."

She let go of his chin before wiping her hands together and turning on her heel to walk back to class. Eddie called out, "I wouldn't mind if you pulled my hair again!"

"You're disgusting, Munson!" She called back, not looking at him before turning the corner to go back to class.

Eddie brought his hand up to where Melian's fingers had been, letting them linger. He felt a genuine smile begin to creep into his face before turning around and heading to the bathroom.

Disgusting, huh.
