It was nice- in the dark and the quiet, with no possibility of me saying anything to screw it up and her eyes looking back, like there was something in me worth seeing.

Julie's POV

  Lots of days have passed since Reid arrived.The next day he started school and his entrance will be engraved in the history books of our school. He showed up at cafeteria directly. The news of a new student from England had already been spread by then. He showed up at cafeteria in all his glory by doing a fantastic number on 'I'm sexy and I know it' and it got all the girls drooling and impressed all of us not to forget it that it was funny also. We can say he made quite an impression on all of us. He was easily accepted by the group and fit in well with us.

       Today, was just another normal wednesday and I was walking down the halls with Reid as we had physics together. As we were going my eyes fell on a poster pasted on the lockers and boards. It was about a talent show and it's auditions were being held after 5 days. I took the poster out from a locker and showed it to Reid. We looked at each other and we both knew what we were thinking. We both were well aware of Nate's singing skills and no matter what talent others had Nate's singing skills were unbeatable.

         The class was about to start so we quickly reached there. Throughout the whole period I thought of all the things I can do to convince Nate to participate in this show. This would be very hard. Finally, the period ended and I went to Reid to talk about it.

    "No!" he said as soon as I reached him.

"Why not?" I whined

" You know how Nate is. Whatever we do it's not gonna work." he said

"But I can and I will even if you're with me or not." I huffed.

He slumped his shoulders in defeat. "Ok! I'm with you but Nate must not know about my involvement." he said.

    I had to think of a plan and fast. I will do it when he will be tutoring me in my home today. When school ended I was the first to go out, I needed to put my plan into action.

Nate's POV

Reid coming to the States made my day. The only thing I didn't loose feom this accident was a best friend. I was happy to see him again. He was well aware of my situation and didn't talk much about it, he was the best friend anyone could ask for.

      Today Reid and Julie were behaving a bit wierd towards me, I wonder why. I came back from a long day of school and got ready to go to Julie's house to tutor her. She is so slow in maths that even a snail could be first in it in the time I taught her.

       I got into my car and went there. I entered the house which seemed empty.

      " Hello! Anybody home?" I called out. I went to Julie's room and there I could hear soft music playing. I entered there and saw a classic guitar placed right in the middle near a candle in the middle of the darkness. It was so beautiful I had the urge to touch it.

         Out of nowhere Julie appeared in front of me "Surprise!!" she exclaimed.

    I was confused what was it today? Not my birthday or christmas.

" I know it's out of nowhere but I love your singing the way the words you write reflect what you feel the way your words touch everyone's heart and leave us spellbound the magic of your music and your soothing voice. I know you're not the one to brag but there is this talent show coming ip in our school. I really really want you to participate. Please? Don't do this for you but do it for yourself." she said.

For a while I was taken aback. What did she just say? Talent show.. singing? Suddenly all flashbacks of the past came rushing towards me. I felt a pang of hurt.
