part 5. Will

We're on the way from our house to MIkes when Johnathan says he's picking up Mike's sister.

"What??" I say confused

"We're just hanging out, studying for a test, you know?" Jonathan says, eyes dead on the road

I thought she was dating Steve Harrington...

"What about her boyfriend?"

"I get that you're in middle school and everything but hanging out with the opposite gender doesn't mean you're automatically dating."

"Well when someone's 'hanging out' with Steve Harrington, yeah it does." I say

I've seen Steve downtown with his idiot friends before. They think vandalizing private property, is fun. I'll never understand how these are the type of people that make fun of D&D...

We pull up to the Wheller house as Nancy walks out. She's wearing a jean jacket with blue pants. Fashion nightmare. I look up and there's Mike, his mouth gaping open. Did something happen...?

I walk inside while Mike asks me a plethora of questions.

"Did you know our siblings are dating??"

"How long has this been going on?"

"Do you think Nancy is cheating on Steve?"

I honestly don't know why it's such a big deal.

"Why does it matter?" I say in hopes it'll make him stop.

"Oh, I mean..." He says

Our one-sided conversation is interrupted as the doorbell rings.

It's Dustin.

Mike opens the door and Dustin is already wearing his costume..?

"Who's ready for Halloween!!??" Dustin yells

"Hey, Dustin" Mike and I say while walking up to his room.

His room is great. Full of posters and art, my art. He found my sketchbook when I went missing and he's had them up on his wall ever since. I may be different but at least I have friends. Kinda.

"Oh I forgot to tell you guys, I just a new comic, lemme find it." Mike says rummaging through an old basket.

While Mike look, Dustin and I look around Mikes's room, occasionally teasing him for various things.

"Mike and El, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g..." Dustin sings while opening a book.

I walk over to him and get a closer look, it's letters..? I read over Dustin's shoulder and get a glimpse of the cover. The words read "diary"

I didn't know he had a diary.

As soon as I actually start reading the letters, Mike comes over and snatches them away from us.

"Stop looking at my stuff Dustin, that's private." Mike scowls

"You're still hung up on Eleven!! Jeez man, it's been months... you probably know how many days it's been, don't you." Dustin teases.

I decide to tune them out, if Mike wants to write about some girl he doesn't know over me, so be it. I sit on Mike's bed, flipping through a comic I found laying around.

A slip of paper falls out.

I pick it up cautiously, looking up to make sure Mike is preoccupied with Dustin. I open up the slip of paper and to my surprise, it's a note...to me.
