ACT III - TRAIL OF BLOOD: Part 5 - Butcher's cruelty

The next days was still peaceful, no signs of Butcher except Rose's visit. The citizens became more confident and started to resist Butcher's people. Meanwhile Kion continued his fights in tournament and trainings in swamps with Makuu's clan. Right now Kion was with Bunga returning from tournament.

Bunga: It's UN-BUNGA-LIEVABLE how many coins you can earn from tournaments!

Kion: Not mentioning the bets. It feels wonderful to fight with my katana again.

Bunga: It was bad to fight with your sword?

Kion: It wasn't but i trained with katana my whole life so i'm better with katana than a sword.

Bunga: Is it really this different fighting with katana and fighting with a sword?

Kion: There isn't much difference but still i'm better with katana then a sword.

Bunga: Allright.

While they talked like that they heard a scream.

Bunga: You heard that?

Kion: It sounded like Rose. C'mon let's go!

They sprinted to towards the place and saw Beshte fighting with baboon armed in tonfas.

Rose: Thank gods you came here.

Kion: What happened?

Bunga: Who is this guy?

Rose: Redhead, that's what they call him in gang. Butcher must have send him after me.

Bunga: Why would he sent someone after you?

Kion: We will talk about it later! I have a job to do. - he said jumping in the fight with his katana in his hands.

Redhead was about to attack Beshte when Kion blocked his attack and counter-attacked him with Fire ball which sent him flying away.

Kion: You okay Beshte?

Beshte: I'm allright, just tired. This guy is fast.

Kion: Take a brake, i will take care of him.

Moments later Redhead came back with new energy to fight.

Kion: I fought with a guy that is like 3 times bigger than you. Surrender if you don't want to hurt yourself!

Redhead: You've met Bull, that worthless fool? It was Butcher himself that killed his parents. I always thought it was a mistake letting that little brat live.

Kion: A mistake was your decision to come here. - he said getting in the fighting position.

SOME TIME LATER

The fight was tough, Redhead was fast and easily dodged Kions attack but Kion found a tactic how to defeat him and won.

Kion: That's what you get for terrorizing the innocent.

Redhead: It used to be all about having fun, breaking rules, being young. But things have changed so much. This... cult... is too serious. It's not fun anymore.

Kion: There's nothing funny in bullying anyone. Now go and never return.

And with that Redhead left the town.

LATER THAT DAY

Kion and his friends gathered in Basi's bar to talk about next moves.

Kion: Basi, when do you think Butcher will return here?

Basi: Soon, you had become a big problem to him. Called everyone to rebel against him and beating up his strongest people.

Simba: Hermit warned us about Butcher's gang, but this... this is much worse. He has been misleading children, turning them, building his own private army!

Kiara: That's disgusting! How could he do such a thing? Give me a sword and I'll kill him myself!

???: That's not even a beginning of Butcher's cruelty.

Everyone turned they attention to Rose who came out from the shadows.

Kion: Relax, i invited her.

Everyone: WHAT!

Simba: What did you do!

Bunga: She threatened me!

Kiara: Why is she even here?

Kion: She has some information that could help us.

Kiara: Haven't you seen what happened today! Butcher sent one of stronger men and he attacked Beshte!

Rose: You are right, Butcher sent Redhead here to bring me to him but only to kill me.

Ono: What do you mean kill you?

Rose: After i lost with Kion, i made a decision: I'm leaving Butcher, i have enough of trying to be what he wants. And now he wants to kill me.

Kion: But that's not the only Rose decided to leave Butcher.

Kiara: Then what is it?

Kion nodded at Rose, she pulled out a wet clothing and wiped her left eye with it. When she was finished she revealed a huge bruise on her face.

Bunga: Ouch, you could be more carefull Kion.

Kion: It wasn't me, she had that paint covering the bruise before we fought.

Kiara: You want to tell us that...

Rose: Yes, Butcher was beating me. And it was not the first time. - she said with her eyes starting to water.

Beshte not knowing why walked up to her and hugged her, Rose immediately hugged him back.

Meanwhile Kion talked with his family.

Kiara: Now i pray Butcher will come here soon, i want to see him suffer for what he did to these people.

Simba: Calm down Kiara, remember what i taught you.

Kiara: Never let your emotions took over you.

Kion: Don't worry Kiara, i promise you i will do anything to get rid off Butcher.

Some time later everyone went sleep, except Kion who decided to go to the kitchen and get something to drink. When he was going back to sleep he saw Beshte also awake, he seemed to be looking at something, or more likely on someone. Kion looked the same direction where Beshte and his eyes landed on Rose who was sleeping peacefully. Kion just smiled at him and went to sleep.
