"What the fuck are you doing here." Steve hissed."I wanted to check on my daughter." The voice hissed. Holy shit.
"Oh, the daughter you put here?" Steve paused.
"Get lost, you won't be seeing her anytime soon." He slammed the door shut.
"Steve..." I paused. "That was dad wasn't it." A stupid question I know. Not like it would be mom.
"Yeah." Steve said through a clenched jaw. Only now did I realize soda was gone.
"Where's soda?" I asked,
"He left a few hours ago. He's covering my shift today.
"Steve." I sighed. "You don't have to stay with me. I'm leaving today anyways."
"Hell no. Especially if that bastard is showing up here. He's not getting anywhere near you." He said pacing around the room. Ah there's my overprotective brother. Irish twin.
"Fine" I sighed. "What time is it?"
"It 2pm" he laughed slightly.
"I slept that long?" I exclaimed.
"Yeah," he laughed. "But that's pretty justified." He looked down, and stopped pacing.
"You know kie." He said, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"You really scared me." His voice wobbled, he looked me in the eyes.
"Why did you get involved?"
"I don't know," I mumbled, picking at the blankets.
"He just. He made me angry. He punched you and that's not okay. I just snapped I guess."
"Kie. Thank you for trying to help me, but I can handle myself. You don't need to help okay? I don't want anything happening to you,"
"Awe you care about me." I smirked. He glared at me but cracked a smile.
"Yeah yeah, don't get a big head" he ruffled my hair.
"Ow! Concussion!" I groaned.
"Sorry." He chuckled
An hour later we are driving down the streets of Tulsa, towards the Curtis house.
"Steve," I ask, "where are we going?"
"The Curtis." He says.
"Why?"
"You aren't going to live under the same roof as that asshole." He said looking out at the road.
"Your not serious." I said, he glanced at me sternly.
"Yes. I am." He said. "Either you stay with the Curtis's, We lock dad out, Or we put him in jail."
"Steve. 1. I'm not staying at the curtiss, 2. That actually might not be a horrible idea. 3. We'll get taken away."
"So either, we lock dad out or we lock dad out."
"I think I'm gonna go with... lock dad out." I laughed slightly.
"Alright." He said.
Soon we pulled into the driveway, and to our luck he wasn't home.
"Alright we lucked out." Steve laughed. He helped me walk into the house and then immediately went to the phone and started dialing.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Calling for reinforcements."he paused.
"Hey, I need a favor." He said.
