The Power Goes Out (Mature era) 🔦

One night, me and Michael were getting ready to have a movie night.

We were currently in the kitchen making the popcorn.

After the popcorn was finished, Michael took it out of the microwave.

The bag was hot, and he had to be careful to avoid getting burned.

Once I got our drinks ready, Michael poured the popcorn into a big bowl.

Together, we brought our snacks and beverages to the living room.

I put the movie in and sat down next to Michael on the couch.

About fifteen minutes later, there was a flash coming from the lamp that was sitting on the coffee table.

Then, everything around became dark.

"Who turned out the lights"?

I asked, looking around for a light source.

Michael tried turning on the kitchen light back on by using the switch, but nothing happened.

"The power must've gone out. We should go downstairs to the basement and turn on the emergency lights".

But neither of us could see anything in the dark without a source of light.

"Let's go find a flashlight".

I suggested.

"But where is it, sweetie"?

Michael asked curiously.

"I don't know. Where ever you put it last".

I answered him, shrugging my shoulders.

We both decided to stick together so none of us wouldn't bump into anything.

Michael nearly tripped on something, and it was one of his children's toys.

I grabbed onto his hand to make sure that he didn't fall down and accidentally hurt himself.

"Maybe it's in the basement".

He said, after we'd been searching for little while.

"But how can we see where we're going. One of us might fall down on the stairs".

I reminded him.

Then, one of Michael's bodyguards came and he had a flashlight with him.

"Here you go, Mr. Jackson".

"Thank you Bill".

After that, we used the flashlight to make our way safely down the stairs that led to the basement.

Michael switched the emergency lights on and soon, the darkness went away.

A flash of lightning could be heard outside.

"That must have been why the power went out".

I said the singer out loud.

"Yeah, you're probably right".
