Chapter 24: Braxton Hicks

(Steve: 35 weeks)

Steve was at the end of his eight-month mark, which he was very worried about, He didn't understand why he was worried about it, Billy and he picked out names for their twins and had the nursery all ready done and ready to go when the twins come. The number one thing that has been on the older male's mind, that thing was being a good parent, he worried about messing up and that the twins would hate him, but that wouldn't be the case since Billy was there to help his lover out, they both were nervous about the twins coming since Steve was in his last few months of pregnancy. Well, the first to last month of pregnancy. 

Besides him being nervous, he was ready to have the twins and be done with it, he and Billy already discuss what the older male's birth plan was and he was really ready for that day to come. 

"You ready for bed, Stevey?" Billy asked, getting into bed, where Steve looked at him. "I don't sleep anymore." The older male replied, "My whole body hurts." 

"I bet." Steve made of face of discomfort. "Ouch, Ow."

"What's wrong?"

"Braxton Hicks," Steve replied, "They're false contractions." Billy rubbed his back. "I read up on them, it's just cramps that are very painful, nothing big.'

"I know, Harrington, but I hate seeing you in pain, And ever since you got longer into your pregnancy that's all you been in is pain."

Steve shook his head, he knew Billy was right. "Don't worry, we wouldn't have to worry about me being in pain after the twins are finally here."

"But you'll have to be in pain for who knows how many hours," Hargrove replied, sounding sad. Steve looked at him. "It's finally over." 

"Thank goodness." 

"Yeah, tell me about it," Steve said, trying to sit up, grunting while he did it. "Just one more month of this and I'll be able to sit up without grunting." 

Billy chuckled a little bit at his lover. "Well, you know, you wouldn't be able to get out of bed when you have the twins, you know that, right?"

Steve nodded. "Yeah, I know, sadly, I wouldn't be able to walk."

"It'll only be a few weeks though, after the few weeks are up, you'll be back to work and you'll be able to walk again."

Steve smiled at the thought of that. "Soon, we'll be a family of four."

"Yep, we'll have our twins here soon." He kissed Steve on the side of his head. "Love you."

"Love you too." 

A few weeks later

(Steve: 36 weeks)

"Congratulations, you are now in your last month of pregnancy, Steve!" Robin said.  Steve laughed at her.  Billy was at work, while Robin and Steve were hanging out and Billy didn't want Steve to be by himself if the twins decided to come early, so, He knew the perfect person who would be there just in case that would happen, and the perfect person was Robin. 

He knew Robin and Steve were best friends, they are, and he knew that Robin would call him in a heartbeat if something happened. He trusted Robin and He knew how Steve and she got along so well.  

When Steve and he got together, Robin was the biggest supporter of their relationship since she is indeed a lesbian and she knew that Steve was bisexual before he even knew it. 

"Thank you, Robin." 

"You're welcome, So, are you excited about becoming a first-time parent?"

"I am for sure but I'm nervous."

"Oh, I would be too, if I were you."

"Yeah, but I know that Billy will be there to help me out as well, we were talking about it last night."

Robin nodded. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just a cramp, I'm fine."  Steve replied, "It's probably a Braxton hick coming on." 

"Ouch, They said those are painful," Robin informed, looking at the older male with a worried expression on her face. 

"They are, believe me." 

"I bet." 

"Now, I know what girls go threw while on their periods." 

"Are they that bad?"

"Yeah, They are horrible, I hate having them." Steve said, "This one is milder than the one I had last night, the one I had last night hurt like a son of a bitch, I hated it, I hate this part of the pregnancy, but I know my body is getting ready for birth." 

"Which is true," Robin replied. 

Steve felt his body relax, he never thought being pregnant would cause this much pain, he hated everything about Braxton Hicks, he wish he didn't have to deal with them but he knew he would have to since it was his last month of pregnancy and the twins could come any day now.

Steve was really nervous about giving birth but he knew that the party, Robin, Billy, and the midwife will be there with him while he was in labor and about to give birth to the twins, so he wouldn't go threw birth alone. 

Harrington knew that Billy wouldn't leave his side at all when he was in labor, they had been together for about four years and Billy treated him so well and he did the same in return.

 A lot of people were all for Steve and Billy being a thing then there were people who stopped talking to them due to them being together, and some people actually told Steve to his face in front of Billy, that he could do better.  Steve always replied, "You don't know him as I do." 

A lot of people who when to school with Billy hated him since he was one of the troublemakers, he would pick fights with kids, But he had reasons why he did it in the first place, which Steve couldn't remember on the top of his head but Billy had had told him many times. 

Steve and he started to date when they were seniors in High school, and Kids picked on Steve for dating him, which Hargrove kicked the kids' asses when they made comments towards Steve.

That's how much Billy loved him, he was kicking kids' asses for him and got detention for him, he loved Harrington so much to do things like that for his lover.

"You alright, Steve?"

"Yeah, I am, Just thinking."

"About?"

"Nothing, it's nothing," Steve answered back, looking down at his bump. "Are they kicking?"

Steve nodded, Robin ran over to him and placed a hand on her very pregnant co-worker's stomach, feeling the twins move.

"Holy shit, does that feel weird?"

"Very." Steve replied, "I'm going to miss this the most."

"I bet."

They both laughed.
