The sunlight danced threw the window blinds of Billy and Steve's bedroom, where Billy shifted in bed to see Steve sleeping soundly next to him.
Billy was enjoying the scene in front of him until he heard one of the twins crying. he glanced over at Steve, who opened his eyes. "I'll get it..." Steve mumbled, half asleep, he shifted in bed, pain painted across his face.
"No, No, I've got it," Billy whispered, stroking Steve's hair and kissing him on the forehead. The brunette nodded, closing his eyes again, fell back to sleep, and curled up under several blankets.
Billy walked to the twins' nursery, Summer was sound asleep, while her sister was crying, Billy picked Winter up and rocked her for a moment. "What's the matter, Winter?" The week-old baby cried. "Oh, I know what you want." he took her to his and Steve's room. "Stevey?" Steve shifted, looking up at his fiance and one of the twins. "Winter?" Steve asked, confused about which twin Billy brought him.
"Winter Rose, the one and only, Stevey." The brunette nodded, yawning. "She's hungry." Steve pull his shirt off and began to feed Winter, who drank happily from his chest. "I'm exhausted."
"I bet." Billy said, "Do you still feel sore?" Steve nodded. "I'm very sore." Billy rubbed his back. "I love you."
"Love you too, Billy." Steve hummed. "I'm going to try and get up again tomorrow."
"You sure?" His fiance asked, handing him a burping cloth for Winter. Steve lay Winter on the bed, placing the burping cloth on his shoulder. "It's hard but I can do it...Somehow."
"I'll help you if I can." Billy chimed in, "I mean, you had not one but two babies a week ago."
Steve nodded, while he burped Winter. "Thank you."
"No problem at all, We're gonna try to get you up in the morning, Steve." The brunette smiled warmly yet exhaustion wore on his facial expression; Billy has never seen Steve that tired before. "I need sleep." He handed Billy Winter, who was sound asleep by then. "Go back to sleep, I'll be back in soon, love." He kissed Steve on the head and Steve fell asleep once again.
~The Next Morning~
Billy stood in front of Steve, worried. "You don't have to get up, okay?" Steve coughed. "No, I'm going to try." Billy frowned. "You sure?" Steve reached for him. Billy put out his arms where his sore fiance grabbed on, he tried to get up, closing his eyes tight, feeling tears come to his eyes.
"Sweetheart, you don't need to get up, I know it hurts, okay, We don't need to-"
"Shut up for five seconds."
Billy sighed, he just tried to help but then Steve stopped in tears, he let go and leaned down. "You need to let yourself stop for a moment."
Steve wiped his eyes. "O-Okay." Steve put his head down, taking a deep breath. "Can you try to lift me a little?"
"Okay." Billy eased his hands under his arms and hefted Steve up, the older male cried out, and Billy started to put him down, worried he had hurt Steve.
"No, Let me stand." Steve insisted, "I can do it."
Billy let Steve stand and held him. "Deep breath, okay?" Steve nodded, leaning his head against Billy's chest, Steve looked up and took a deep breath. He smiled. "Good Job."
Steve nodded. "Can I try and walk?" Billy nodded and helped him walk shakily to the door of their room. "You doing good?"
"It hurts," Steve said, pain in his voice. "A lot, but I think I'm okay."
"Good, Good. Tell me if it's too bad."
"I'll just be able to sit on the couch, I think." the older male said, "I hope." Steve paused and kept walking, Billy walking slowly backward. "You make yourself comfortable, I'll get the twins." Steve nodded, while Billy went to get their twins. He came back with them. He handed Summer to Steve and he held Winter.
"You alright, Love?"
"Mhm." Steve hummed, looking down at Summer: She had dirty blonde hair like Billy's and Hazel eyes like his, while Winter had dark brown hair like his and had Billy's eye color, Blue.
Their twins looked fifty-fifty of both of them, but he knew Winter took after Billy, since day one when he started to feel Winter and Summer move around while he was pregnant, Winter was the one who used to kick him in the bladder, then the ribcage, then really hard in the middle of his stomach, Summer, on the other hand, only kick here and there to let Steve know she was still alive and okay with Winter, who was practicing for soccer or something in there, over how much she kicked him. Steve really did miss feeling them move around in his stomach while he was pregnant: The only thing he didn't miss was the morning sickness, he hated it more than anything, then it turned to Night sickness. But looking back on it, it was all so worth it, he loved his little family more than anything.
"Billy."
"Yes?"
"I'm glad I can share this life with you."
"Me too, Harirngton." He looked at his fiance. "I love our life, we have two beautiful girls, and we're basically living the life we always dreamed about."
Steve nodded, looking at his lover. "Can't wait to take your last name, Hargrove."
"I can't either."
They shared a loving kiss before looking back at their daughters, who were both sound asleep in their arms.
The two of them could enjoy this kind of life.
