I was laying on Eve's bed laughing with her about another dumb thing Steve had done trying to get her attention rather than just finally making it official already. I sat up abruptly when I realised the time and Everest shot me a confused look.

"Shit!" I shouted, jumping off her bed as I saw the clock read 6:45 pm, there was no way he was still at home but I could try right?

"Alice what's up?" Eve questioned me as I bolted out of her room and into the kitchen for the phone.

"Eddie!" I shouted as I frantically started dialling the number that was still on my hand albeit quite faded.

"Hello?" I heard the voice of whom I assumed was his uncle on the other end.

"Hello Mr. Munson, Uhm, is Eddie home by chance?" I twirled the phone chord around my finger as he said the words I didn't want to hear.

"Sorry, just missed him, want me to take a message?" I sighed as I told him it was fine and thanked him for his time. Damnit this wasn't going to leave a good image for Eddie but I was pretty sure he had to come here to pick up Dustin anyways.

I slinked back into Everest's room with a defeated huff, landing on her bed. I sighed and explained how I was supposed to be picked up by Eddie and she laughed at me.

"He'll be here soon to get Dusty." She reassured me and I sighed in relief though I'd still have to wait for him and likely get him shouted at by my father again.

I bit my nails anxiously as I waited for him and Everest just shook her head at me with a smile. "You're bad."

"Shut up!" I threw my arms up with my shout and she chuckled again.

"Not my fault you're falling for him." She pointed out and I sighed.

"No it's Dustin's." I muttered and she laughed.

"Dustin?" She looked over at me in pure amusement.

"Yea! If it wasn't for that little twerp I wouldn't be having these problems." I explained with large dramatic hand gestures for no reason.

"You should be thanking him then." I scoffed at her suggestion and she just smiled.

"What for?" My arms crossed as her eyes rolled.

"Don't act like you're not happy." She glanced at the door as if to make sure she was keeping my secrets. "I'd know better than anyone how long you've wanted him to talk to you."

"Just thought he was cute is all." She rolled her eyes at my incessant denial but seemingly gave up as knocking was soon heard on her front door. I turned to Everest hopefully and she rolled her eyes with a smile, getting off her bed to go answer the door.

"Hey Eddie, Dustin's just in his room, oh and Alice is here too." She tagged on that last part as if it was the least important bit of information and I strongly disagreed. I slung my bag over my shoulder as I slid out after Everest in what I hoped wasn't a totally pathetic display.

"Hey Eddie, I tried to call but your uncle said I'd just missed you." As I spoke he clicked his tongue in disapproval.

"Told you not to make me wait, and your father cussed me out something awful." He lulled out in a tone that somehow didn't seem overly irritated with me.

"Yea he's a bit of a dick." Dustin shot out and Everest nodded in agreement as I giggled.

"Sorry Eddie." I guess I was apologising to him a lot lately.

"I know, you were supposed to be making it up to me." Eddie leaned a bit closer to me with a smirk before Dustin rudely interrupted our flirting.
