I was coming back from surfing when I heard my name being called from susannah " maeve!, dress in your debutante dress and let me paint you please your the next one!." she told me I nod and smile at her I go upstairs and get ready.

as I get down getting I go back down stairs and see her outside getting her stuff together then I see her stop for a second and sit done she looked out of breath , holding her chest I run out side and put my hand on her shoulder " susannah are you okay?" I say worried for the woman who was like my mother she looked at me and smiled

" of course honey, now let's go paint your beautiful face!" she said I smile at her as she grabbed my hand to pull me to where she was painting me.

I sit on the stool as Susannah was getting her paint ready then she started to do what she loved doing painting and having time with the kids she loved.

susannah started to speak with the one question she didn't want to hear " what's been going on with Jessica?"

my mother the one who hasn't called to see how I was doing the one who I trusted but hurt me the most the one who left her bestfriends and now only has the worst person in the world my father.

the two people who started my life but then ruined my life.

after couple seconds I finally speaked " I wouldn't know." I say then was left in silence but then susannah decided to ask another question

" how have you been since that night." susannah asked that night is all that's on mind fearing it would happen again if happens in my sleep over and over again I don't wanna tell susannah that I'm drinking the pain away when I'm in my room or alone in the car so I lie to her so she wouldn't worry.

" I've been fine I'm taking it day by day." I say with the fake smile I could make susannah nods not believing her but didn't say anything

but susannah knew that maeve couldn't lose another mother figure in her life as her mother isn't even there for her barley acknowledging her but she could not tell maeve that she was battling cancer she had to keep it from her.

she didn't want to cause maeve anymore pain

maeve was out of her dress in her bathing suit thinking about going swimming or surfing she didn't know yet.

so she went down stairs to see that belly and Taylor , all the boys even Conrad playing volley ball so she decided not to interrupt them so she went out to grab her surf board hoping no one would see her she went pass them to get her surf board she grabbed it was heading out to the ocean then she heard conrad call out her name

" mae!." he called out maeve acted like she couldn't hear him continued to walk away but then she heard someone get out of the water and grabbed her

" hey wanna get into the pool with us?" He asked once I turned around I could feel eyes on us I looked up at him I softly smile ar him
