𝑵𝒐 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑯𝒊𝒎: 𝘽𝙖𝙟𝙞 𝙆𝙚𝙞𝙨𝙪𝙠𝙚 𝙭 𝙔/𝙉

A whole week has now passed since Baji's death. With his vacant position in Toman, the time for you to have it has finally come.

"I hereby announce Y/N L/N as the new 1st Division Captain of Tokyo Manji Gang, taking after the late 1st Division Captain Baji Keisuke!"

But it's only the beginning.

You notice most Toman members gasp in surprise hearing what their leader, Mikey, just say with his loud, echoing voice yelling out to all of them. Some give a look of disappointment while others simply look scared, having witnessed in person what you did to Kazutora on the day of Bloody Halloween. Mikey too notices this.

"And now, I'd like to ask Y/N to come to the front and say a few words as the 1st Divison Captain.", Mikey says, looking behind him and tilting his head a little to the side as a signal for you to come forward.

"Every single one of you listen to her carefully, with your ears wide open and mouth entirely shut.", Draken shouts out to the rest of Toman members.

With your hands in your pockets, you take your time to prepare. You look back at Chifuyu who's standing right behind you. He faintly smiles at you, making you feel a bit calmer.

You take a deep breath and head to the front, your hands still clenched in your pockets. Mikey gets out of your way as you walk forward, passing by him.

You stop and take a look at everyone
else around you. All of Toman bows down to you, including Mikey himself.

Although you haven't prepared anything specifically for your speech, you decide to continue on with whatever comes to you naturally.

And so with a sigh, you start your speech.

"I remember us both being 10 years old when we first met each other. I was sitting alone on a bench at our neighbourhood park while all the other kids were playing around. When out of the blue, a young short black-haired boy appeared before me. He asked me if he could sit down on the bench next to me. I looked up at the boy and nodded. After he sat down, it was a whole series of questions coming from him, one after another. He managed to annoy me the first time we had met. But there was slightly something about him that comforted me. His big bright smile, which would never go away. He held out his hand and offered to play with me at the park...and I accepted it. In the end, it was just the two of us playing around the entire evening. Even more surprisingly, we turned out to be next door neighbours too. But later on in our lives, while I was away at a rotting prison cell...he grew up to be the captain of a gang. But sadly ended up giving his own life for it...for his friends. And that boy is, as you're all aware of, Baji Keisuke, former 1st Division Captain of Tokyo Manji Gang. He was the best captain, friend, partner and a son that anyone could ask for. And I was merely one of the lucky ones to have him there by my side. Even though I am the one that has been chosen to take after his position, no one can ever replace him."

The whole atmosphere seems to have changed right away.

From the looks on everyone's face, it becomes clear your words have had a silent yet effective impact on everyone present at the meeting. Especially the founding members of Toman.

The sound of subtle clapping emerges from behind you. When you turn to look, it's Chifuyu. He looks as if he's tried his best to hold back his tears but failed to do so.

You hear a bunch of hands clapping from behind you once again, the noise increasing higher and higher. But when you turn to look behind, it immediately turns into a full-blown applause coming from everyone.

"Thank you...everyone.", you say in response to the members.

After one or two hours of celebrating, the meeting eventually comes to an end. Everyone except Mikey, Draken, Mitsuya, Pah-chin, Chifuyu and Takemitchy are to leave the shrine.

"You did great. We're all proud of you, Y/N.", Mitsuya tells you as he pats you on the shoulder like an older brother would. "We're glad to have you on the team.", Draken says, joining Mitsuya.
"That was one hell of a story! You almost made me cry, man!", Pah-chin yells at you jokingly as he wipes away his tears.

"You're so cool, Y/N! We love you!", Takemitchy cries out as he springs forward to hug you, but you easily manage to block him by putting your hand on his chest. "Get off, Takemitchy. And stop being such a crybaby.", you say to him laughing as he looks at you with teary puppy eyes.

"Are you sure about this, Y/N?", Chifuyu asks you in a worried voice, looking concerned. "It's okay, Chifuyu. I got this. After all, it's what Baji would've wanted for all of us, isn't it?", you answer him with a smile, reassuring him.

"It's almost midnight. We should be leaving now. Mikey? Won't you come join us?", Draken looks behind him and asks Mikey who's sitting on the stairs. "It's fine. You guys can go on ahead.", Mikey answers in response to Draken.

You take a look at Mikey with a curious look on your face, wondering why he hasn't said anything to you since you gave your speech. "Maybe, I shouldn't have said so much.", you think to yourself, making you regret giving your speech more and more.

You decide to follow behind the others while they walk down the stairs of the shrine. You find yourself completely lost in your own thoughts. As you keep walking slower and slower, you remain the only one inside the shrine other than Mikey.

"Hey, Y/N. Stop there for a second.", Mikey calls out from behind you.

You startle in surprise, resulting in your eyes widening a little.

"Y/N, there's something I'd like to say to you..."

Tada, surprise everyone! So seems like I'm finally back on track with the story. I know it's been months since i last updated and I'm truly, incredibly sorry for that. But I'd like to let you all know that I have now started reading the manga as well so the updates might get a little more frequent now if not consistent.
