In which after leaving Gotham, Cassandra Winter finds herself chasing after another vigilante.

"What am I looking at?" a confused Bruce Wayne questioned, grabbing the files that a fifteen—year old Cassandra Winter had just slammed into his desk.
"This one" she pointed to the one resting on the right side "Is William Murphy's autopsy. The entrepreneur that was shot yesterday"
"How did you get it?" the billionaire raised an eyebrow, looking at her with his usual neutral expression. Young Cassandra just tilted her head, giving him an obvious look.
"That's literally my job. I find the bad guys, you and Dick kick their asses" she replied, and right on cue, Richard Grayson walked in what Cassie liked to call the batcave — as much as Bruce hated the name—
"You are never dropping that nickname, are you?" the seventeen year old boy groaned, having heard his name in the conversation.
"Why would I? It fits perfectly" the blonde flashed him a big smile, making the other roll his eyes "Back to what I was saying. That's William's autopsy. And this is my mother's"
The two men in the room, that until now were focused on the files, shot their heads right up to look at the youngest one in the room; Bruce with a confused frown, and Dick with a softer look, knowing how delicate the subject of her mother was.
"We are trying to find a man that killed someone yesterday" Bruce Wayne's deep voice reminded her "Why are we looking at a seven year old case?"
Cassandra clenched her jaw at his words; the emotionless and careless way he spoke about it, as if were any other irrelevant case.
"You would know if you looked at the damn files" she replied in a slight harsh tone, her lips forming a flat smile "Look at the ballistic report. The bullet that killed William and the one that killed my mother were both laced with curare"
"Assuming that there's only one mercenary that uses curare is a long shot" the older vigilante muttered, still examining the files.
"It's not a long shot, it's the killer M.O" the girl exasperatedly, raising her arms in frustration.
"I think she's right" Dick Grayson chimed in after giving it some thought. He was used by now to be in the middle of disagreements between Cassandra and Bruce, and although he didn't usually take any sides, he took Cassie's one when he did.
The vigilante known as Batman didn't say anything else, he just kept looking between the files and the two teenagers in front of him.
"Look Bruce" Cassandra sighed, crossing her arms "I'm gonna look into this, whether you are in or not. It's my mother, I have to"
