" I'm a reporter, I'm always chasing after good stories. And yours is a fascinating one "
or
In which after leaving Gotham, Cassandra Winter finds herself chasing after another vigilante.
...
"I assumed that the two of you would know each other" Frank Bertinelli commented, sitting down after pouring Cassandra Winter the same drink Oliver Queen and him were having. The blond man hadn't been able to tear his eyes off the woman since she entered the room, and he would like to say that the only reason he kept looking at her was due to his surprise of seeing her there, but he would be lying "At the end, you both are here for the same reason"
"We are?" The Queen man finally spoke, his eyebrows frown, as Cassandra shyly took seat next to him.
"Business" Bertinelli answered, bringing the glass to his lips "Cassandra is here on behalf of her family's business as well"
Once again, Olive's eyes flew to the blonde. He remembered a conversation from a few weeks ago, where Cassandra told him about how her adoptive father was some important businesses man, but he also recalled how she mentioned that she didn't want to be involved with any of it. Furthermore, her brother was a detective, he surely knew who Frank Bertinelli was. So, what was Cassandra really doing there?
"Thank you for having me here, specially on such a short notice" Cassie spoke, giving the man a sweet smile. Oliver was sure that that smile could get her anywhere she wanted "My father sends his regards"
"I have to be honest with both of you, I was surprised to hear from you" Bertinelli looked at the pair, who in returned gave the man a rather fake smile "You never seemed interested in continuing your father's company" he spoke, looking at Cassandra "And it was my impression from the local news that you weren't going to be involved with your family's business" he now directed his words to Oliver Queen.
"Well, apparently there were a few catch phrases that I missed while I was away for 5 years. One of them being mainstream media." the blond commented, the two men laughing as Cassandra tried her best not to roll her eyes "The press never gets anything right"
"Depends on what press you read" this time it was Cassandra who brought the glass to her lips, taking a sip of the drink "But you're right, Mr. Bertinelli, I'm just doing my father a favor, since I was already here"
"Please, call me Frank" he asked "And how is he, by the way? Last time I saw Bruce he was denying me the contract to build Wayne Enterprises Biotech's new division" at the mention of the Wayne Enterprises, Oliver's head shot one more time to Cassie's direction, surprise and astonishment written all over his face.
